New Employee Benefits Counseling
New employees may request a 1-hour session designed to assist them with making benefit and retirement elections. Eligibility is based on position and employment status. There is a 30 day deadline from the date of hire to make benefit elections.
Ending TERI Counseling
2-part session by phone or in person Part A: 60-min. benefits session will place you in the best situation when you leave Clemson. Part B: 30-min. exit interview captures details about your Clemson experience.
Separation Exit Interview
Separation interviews scheduled on Monday or Tuesday will be done over the phone. The separation interview provides departing faculty and staff with the opportunity to provide feedback about their experience at Clemson University.
HR representatives are available to assist international faculty, staff and students with the following services: Employment eligibility verification, employment eligibility re-verification , and related tax.
Benefits Inquiries and Changes
Existing faculty and staff who would like to meet with a benefits counselor in a confidential, one-on-one setting to discuss their benefits are asked to schedule a meeting to discuss insurance and/or retirement.
Faculty Exit Interview
The exit interview survey provides departing faculty with the opportunity to provide feedback about their experience at Clemson University. Exit interviews are voluntary; however they are strongly encouraged.

I really enjoyed the main Clemson on-boarding process. It was helpful and entertaining! The speakers that came discussed pertinent information for an employee at Clemson and the tour around campus was helpful even for an alum since there are so many new buildings and projects. I felt as if I walked away with good connections with others that work at the university as well.

It is good experiencing to be in the HR office. Persons working there are really very nice. But hiring process of university is little confusing because it depends on SSN number. It is important but they should start the people on payroll as they report to them because they have the VISA to work here. Later on they can set the things with SSN. If they don’t want to pay until SSN procedure, it is fine but person should be paid for all the days from first day of reporting as it happen in Canada.
