A getaway in the middle of the city
Andreas K - Mar 12, 2018
Enjoy renting a boat, public sail on weekends or just walk the docks to enjoy the collection of traditional wooden boats that are kept here. Better yet, participate in improving our community by signing up for a sailing course or to volunteer a couple hours and get to know the crew better. CWB is truly a little getaway nestled into the city.
Best day on the water

My son and I had a great sailing lesson. Our instructor, Christian, taught us how to take off, land, track up wind, and down wind. We each got turns practicing different duties in the boat. We had a fun time, and learned so much. The staff and William were very helpful showing us where things were, where to go, and get fitted for life jacket. We had a great time and definitely coming back.
Great place to learn and have fun!

I started taking classes at the whim of a friend. I had zero experience. The shore school and practice sessions were done very well. I truly appreciate all of my teachers. Even though some of my classes were cancelled, Ned was fantastic at rescheduling those with me. And today I officially passed my checkout! I will definitely be returning to rent a boat. Thanks again for everything you do!
Great venue for all things sailing!

I've been volunteering with this organization for more than a year now. Volunteering at CWB is a great way to easy yourself into all things sailing. Recently, I've taken the SailNOW! program, an intro course on how to sail a keel boat. The course was very well organized, with instructors being knowledgeable and attentive to their students. Highly recommend!
Great Program, but lots of bumps along the way
Dana Chauvin - Nov 16, 2017
This was the second year our program visited the Center For Wooden Boats. The overall program was great and we even had amazing weather. But, due to errors on the time schedule (even though we confirmed three weeks ahead of time) our group of 40 kids had to spend well over an hour on a guided tour, then had to rush through making their boats. It meant our staff had to do even more work to keep them entertained, which was hard after an hour and a half trip down in our vans.
