Simone, owner of Marin Ayurveda, had dreams of becoming a doctor. Years later, during a time when she was overcoming some health issues, she started seeing specialists in alternative medicine. “I was practising yoga and was a massage therapist, and one day it became clear to me: I needed to practice holistic medicine. That was about 15 years ago,” said Simone. Realizing that she had such an interest in the industry, it made sense for Simone to move into the area of alternative medicine.
Moving from massage therapy to Ayurveda was an easy transition, but Simone confessed that she found it a bit scary at first. “I didn’t feel like I knew enough, so I took classes and went to workshops and seminars,” said Simone. “Getting clients was difficult, but word of mouth was the main way I succeeded.”
“Genbook has everything I needed”
When she first started practising, Simone wrote all of her appointments in a paper calendar. “It wasn’t optimal,” Simone explained, “but with Genbook, people can go to my website, click a button, and book their appointment right away. It’s more streamlined, and a more organized way to run my business.” Being a small business owner meant that Simone needed something that could help her automate a lot of the things she had been doing manually.
“I’m a small business, so it’s good to have something that manages it all for me”
It should come as no surprise that Simone’s favorite feature is the reminder email sent out to her clients. “People forget that they’ve made an appointment, but Genbook reminds them. So, if they miss an appointment and try to make an excuse, it doesn’t matter because I know they have been reminded. It’s great to have that certainty,” said Simone.
