5 ways gift certificates can help you grow your business

Last month, we introduced Gift Certificates as a new feature on the Genbook platform. While offering online Gift Certificates isn’t a new idea, they are an increasingly effective tool that small business owners need to leverage to increase cash flow and help grow their business. Here are 5 Ways Gift Certificates Can Boost your Bottom Line.

1. They encourage your loyal customers to promote your business to their friends.

Gift Certificates can expose your business to people who may not have otherwise used your services. Customers who already know and love your business will purchase gift certificates for family and friends, which in turn, helps you grow your customer base and your business.

2. They help you improve your business cash flow.

One of the best things about Gift Certificates is that they put money in your pocket immediately. Online Gift certificates bring in money when they’re purchased; and getting paid now for services you will deliver in the future helps you to improve your business’s cash flow – a win/win for you and your customers.

3. They help you attract new customers and keep them coming back.

Gift Certificates will bring in more customers to your business, period. Every Gift Certificate sold technically results in at least two customers – the individual who purchased the certificate and the recipient – and that doesn’t even include all of the people they both tell about your amazing services after they visit.

4. They help you promote your business and drive more sales during all of the gift-giving holidays throughout year.

This one may seem obvious, but many people think of promoting gift certificates only during Christmas. While Christmas gets all the attention, Gift Certificates offer you a tool to promote your business during other key gift giving holidays, such Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Graduation, Father’s Day, Flag Day…ok, that may be pushing it, but you get the point. By simply promoting that you offer online Gift Certificates during these gift giving holidays, you can easily deliver a spike in sales, allowing you more cushion to purchase that special gift for your loved one’s during these holidays if so desired.

5. They Help you Increase your Revenue.

Customers who use gift certificates aren’t as price sensitive. Because they are not typically spending their own money when using a Gift Certificate, which means that they’ll often spend more than the value of the certificate when redeeming.

And more great news for you, Genbook’s new Gift Certificate feature makes it incredibly easy for your customers to purchase them from you on your Scheduling Webpage and it is super simple for you to enable in your Genbook account.

You can activate this great new feature with one click, simply turn on the option to sell Gift Certificates in your settings from your Genbook account. This is located under Settings > Gift Certificates – under the “Point of Sale” section (Note: Payments must be enabled in order to use the Gift Certificates feature).

Enable Gift Certificates

After you turn this on, your customers will see the option to buy Gift Certificates on your scheduling page at a value of their choice. They can buy for themselves or send as a gift, either way you get paid up front in full!
