New Employee Benefits Counseling
New employees may request a 1-hour session designed to assist them with making benefit and retirement elections. Eligibility is based on position and employment status. There is a 30 day deadline from the date of hire to make benefit elections.
The exit interview survey provides departing staff with the opportunity to provide feedback about their experience at Clemson University. Exit interviews are voluntary; however they are strongly encouraged.
HR representatives are available to assist international faculty, staff and students with the following services: Employment eligibility verification, employment eligibility re-verification , and related tax.
Benefits Inquiries and Changes
Existing faculty and staff who would like to meet with a benefits counselor in a confidential, one-on-one setting to discuss their benefits are asked to schedule a meeting to discuss insurance and/or retirement.
Form I-9 Completion
Assist new employees with the completion of the required Form I-9.

The professionalism of the HR staff was outstanding. All of my questions were answered and then some. The staff was very approachable and they covered everything that you needed and extras that you wouldn't even think about. It was a great mixture of an indoor and outdoor orientation.
It went smoothly.

I've always been told to pick what I wanted - and click the boxes by myself. It was very nice to have somebody explain the options and details. More employers should do a benefit review with new hires.

The appointment for the benefits counselling was awesome. I could not have imagined better than this. Angie made sure that I thoroughly understand the benefits I was choosing. She was friendly, and patient hearing and replying to my queries.
