    Efficient, professional, and sympathetic!

    What a great location. I came here to get an eye exam and contact lenses for the first time (been wearing glasses 5 years). Not only were they fast in accommodating me, fast during the exam, and efficient throughout, they were also so kind and patient with my questions and my pathetic inability to insert contacts into my own eyes. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

    Best place for glasses in NYC

    I have been going to Manhattan Grand Optical for years. Their service is unmatched and their prices are typically 20-30% lower than I have found elsewhere. The staff members go well out of their way to help find just the right fit and are happy to find something in a specific price range. I cannot recommend Manhattan Grand Optical too highly.

    Very Accommodating!

    I needed to get contact lenses ASAP for an overseas trip. They were very accommodating scheduling my appointment as well as overnighting my lenses. Always enjoy using them, even though my office moved and they are a little further away now!

    First visit - great!

    This was my first visit, I live nearby and needed a checkup. They were very helpful and informative about changes in my prescription. They were also very helpful in reviewing eyeglass options. I like that they were upfront about pricing for frames and the different types of lenses and options. I will definitely return.

    Multifocal Contact Lenses

    I was very pleased with the service at Manhattan Grand Optical. From the moment I walked in they were very friendly and answered my questions in reference to my insurance coverage and their contact lens plan. The doctor took her time fitting me with my contacts, which was my primary concerns as multifocal lenses are tricky. I am looking forward to getting my final lenses in a few weeks. Great experience overall, will definitely come back.

    Superb service, affordable packages

    I found out about this place through Yelp, my main priority was affordability, they offer specially priced packages which include the price of both your lenses and contact lense exam. The doctor was amazing, friendly and thorough. So ultimately my year's worth of lenses PLUS the exam ended up around 200.00 for my brand. Excellent price considering most places I checked wanted around 80.00 for the exam alone. Would recommend to anyone looking to save money and get great, quick service.

    Contact Lense Exam

    As a first time contact lens user I highly recommend Manhattan Grand Optical. The staff is both friendly and professional and they maintain a clean and organized facility. I will definitely be back to purchase a new pair of eye glasses in the near future.

    The atmosphere was extremely welcoming. The staff welcomes you at the door. Scheduling of an eye exam was very convenient. Best of all the store had a huge selection of eye glasses!

    Highly Recommended

    Great service, professional and knowledgeable staff. Excellent and stylish selection of frames. They even carry Asian-fit glasses, which was a big plus! They held the frames I liked and let me sleep on it. Then, booking an appointment for an eye exam was effortless and they made sure I loved my new glasses. Thanks!

    Best eye care I've ever had

    Nice and calm, easy place. No "herd" treatment. More neighborly than any place I've been. From the first, they have treated me as a welcome friend, rather than someone to ream for fees. My questions are answered, my requests are considered and discussed. They didn't bat an eye (heh heh) when I arrived :15 minutes late last time. Just an EASY experience! Everyone in my office goes and I am glad MGO was recommended to me. Cool glasses, too.

    Definitely recommended

    I liked being able to book my appt online & appreciated the friendly, helpful & professional staff! Sandy especially was great about suggesting frames both flattering & practical: I have a strong prescription, so she recommended smaller, plastic frames to help camouflage thicker, heavier lenses. I also liked that no one tried to upsell me on more expensive frames. Had some anxiety about the process going in, so was pleasantly surprised by my nice experience there. Thanks Manhattan Optical staff!

    Great Experience

    From the ability to book my appointment online in less than a minute to at the store great professionalism and friendliness it was a great experience. They were true professionals in getting my eyes checked and knowledge and telling me all the details needed so i can get a proper lenses for my frames.

    I heard about this place from a colleague at work. She had a great experience there and I can now echo her sentiments. The staff was friendly, attentive, and organized. Dr. Chin was patient and kind. I could not recommend this place more highly. I will be going there from now on.

    Highly Recommended!

    Saturday night I broke my glasses. A late-night frenzied Yelp search yielded these guys. I made an appointment through Genbook that night. I had an exam, considered a new type of contacts (until I balked and decided to stay with what I have), picked out new frames, and had my new glasses made. Dr. Chin was so nice and accommodating, especially during my freak-out about new contacts. Annie helped me pick out my new frames. And Paul found a way to fix my broken pair the next day!

    Quick, easy, and professional

    A very timely and breezy eye exam for contact lenses. The staff was helpful, friendly, and courteous. It is an excellent deal if you order lenses through them--my exam came out to be less than $50 if I calculate how much it would have cost me to order lenses from another provider. Will definitely be going back.

    Professional, Courteous, Affordable!

    The contact lens exam was one of the most thorough I've ever had and I was allowed to try several different types of contacts to see which I preferred. I was also given a prescription for reading glasses since my drug store readers weren't working. I ended up purchasing a pair of affordable, custom reading glasses there, and they were ready in a half hour. The service is unquestionably the best of any eye place I've been to in the city. I will definitely be back.

    Most thorough eye exam in nyc!

    I recently came here for a yearly routine eye exam (I'm a contact wearer). The doctor took a considerable amount of time to thoroughly check my prescription, which I very much appreciated. I mentioned to her that my contacts had been bothering me and she went the extra mile to really assess my eyes and see what the culprit of my irritation is/was. Sadly, it is truly rare to find a doctor these days who takes as much pride in their work. I have definitely found my go-to eye doctor!

    Another First-Timer for DMV Exam

    For $15.00 MGO tested my sight, signed a DMV form that they provided, so that I can reduce time at the DMV when I get my new license. Everyone was friendly, professional and the vibe was very relaxed. In a small, window-filled, corner shop at Grand/Mott. And I shopped for great, cheap produce on the way to the D train home. Highly recommend on every level.

    First Time Visitor

    Everyone was so nice, welcoming, and made you feel like you were the whole reason they were at work that day. I don't have insurance, but I felt it was very affordable. When trying glasses on, the person helping me was amazing, patient, and very good at helping me find styles I like. In fact, he even was the one to suggest the pair of frames I fell in love with, which were half the price of the ones I was leaning toward before I found those. Really great customer service!

    Great Experience!

    They really took care with the exam to make sure they nailed the correct Rx. I tried on many frames, and suggested I test out the 2 different anti-glare lenses on their in store computer. There was no rushing (the store became busy) and no up-selling; the lovely salesperson who assisted me ended up suggesting the frame that looked the best on me even though it was one of the cheapest in that particular line (Gunnar). Oh ya… and awesome prices!

    Exam started late, but doctor was friendly and efficient and covered all bases. Pricing was fair, although they don't take many insurances, so it may be worth checking if this important to you.

    Fast and Friendly

    Fast contacts lens exam. My appointment began on time. The doctor was thorough but quick. She answered all of my questions and didn't push any particular brand. Prices are fair and a little cheaper than expected, especially in NYC.

    Low prices and high quality

    People are nice and really trying to help you, eye exam took around 40 minutes and was very thorough. Overall, that's place I would recommend to my friend to go.

    Great Experience

    All staff were extremely helpful and genuinely patient. Setting the appointment was a breeze, and every step of the process was remarkably pleasant. Would recommend to anybody. (no basis for comparison on prices though)

    Love this place

    This is a great spot--best prices that I've found (no fee for exam if you buy contacts), pretty quick service, and really friendly and accommodating staff--Dr. Chin was very patient with my millions of questions. This has been my eye doctor for three years and I have never had a problem. I have recommended them to friends.

    quick and helpful

    I made a appointment on their website, I did not have to wait too long when I arrived and Dr.Chin was really helpful, after the exam I choose a frame and the guy that helped me out was really helpful and nice... I was about to order my frames online but found really good ones in the store. I got my glasses the next day and im pretty content with the service, will definitely go back and recommend to friends. I can't believe I used to go to places like lenscrafter etc.....

    Great Experience

    Dr. Chin was so comprehensive & helpful. She showed me the new & different types of contact lenses available for those with really bad astigmatism- goodbye frequency toric 55s! I also appreciated the follow up appointment to make sure my contacts fit properly & were comfortable. The staff is so helpful, the prices are affordable (they credit your examination fee towards the cost of your glasses/contacts), & they are super fast in ordering/receiving contacts. I highly recommend going there!

    awesome group of people

    I was amazed at the service and the friendliness of both OD's . I left there with more saline solution for the next five years and they fixed my glasses in less then an hour. thank you!

    Fantastic

    I scheduled a DMV license renewal eye test online as it was in my neighborhood. They were really nice and super helpful. Even gave me a free reading glasses case as I had left mine on the plane. I will definitely go back there for all my optical needs. Excellent service, thank you!!

    Excellent

    Went in for an eye exam for glasses and it couldn't have went smoother. I had an 12:00pm appointment and got there a little earlier and was examined almost immediately once I stepped through the front door. Dr. Chin was very thorough and open to any questions. Once the exam was through came the daunting task of selecting a pair of frames of which they have many. The associates that work there are very helpful and I came out with a really affordable pair of glasses. Will definitely go back.
