2 Hour Sailing Lesson +1
L.B. - Jun 17, 2013
The people who assisted with the reservation were warm and friendly. I was initially worried at 2 hours was too long, but it turns out to be just enough time for a to get from the CWB dock to the Fremont bridge and back. One issue - our instructor had a lot of stories to share, but he seemed more interested in his stories than giving instruction. I think I could have gotten a lot more out of the lesson if the instructor had been focused on giving a lesson as opposed to just taking us out.

I am so excited about the prospect of renting sailboats periodically on Lake Union. Went in Saturday morning for a checkout and had a great experience. Nice boats and excellent instructor who sussed out my capabilities. Very competent and well maintained boats. Plan on hiring a boat for next weekend. This is going to greatly enhance my summer !!!

Overseas Visitor

We live in the UK and wanted to sail during our short visit to Seattle. We were warmly welcomed and, after passing our "check session" with a friendly instructor we were immediately invited to hire a small wooden boat for the rest of the afternoon / evening. Can't recommend the location and people highly enough. Well worth a visit, even if you don't sail, because there are static boats to view and rowing boats of various types to rent.

great learning experience

I took two lessons and both instructors were patient and helpful while teaching me about tacking, how to jibe, and docking. I wish I lived in Seattle so I could take more lessons. It was great.

What a magical moment

After I sold my sail boat I needed to find another opportunity to sail. Going to the CWB has been aaawwwwsome. I had never sailed a boat without an engine. After a few lessons from great instructors I am loving this new experience. Besides being on the water, there is so much more to do. I am fond of the pond boats only wind driven, so sweet to watch. CWB has so much to offer, I wish I had more time to be there.
