I always enjoy spending time in the resource center. The staff is very knowledgeable and offer helpful suggestions to enhance power points, and term papers. The staff at the resource center help me feel confident, while providing purpose, encouragement, and friendships.

Hannah was awesome. She helped me polish up my paper for bioethics in terms of grammar, sentence structure, etc. She made sure my thoughts were organized,and my sentences were saying exactly what I intended them to. I'm definitely going to request her help on my next paper.

I was having trouble deciding how to write an essay for a Graduate Teaching English As a Foreign Language (TESOL/TEFL) Certification at Hamline University, so I asked a writing center consultant to help me figure out what to include and how to word my essay. She helped me immensely, giving me ideas of what previous experience I should include and how to word my knowledge related to English teaching and befriending international students.

I needed help perfecting my Palmer Symposium Presentation and making sure it was perfect. I scheduled an appointment in the writing center online with Dr. Elder, he spent an hour with me walking through my presentation. He helped me make necessary corrections and ensured that I had the proper formatting for APA in my bibliography!! Thanks You so much!!

I made an appointment with no preference and the person that I met with emailed me before hand so when I went in I knew who I was going to. She was very nice and helpful. My ideas weren't put down, just improved upon. I recommend the writing center to anyone writing a paper.

I went into the writing center to get help with a paper. I was supposed to work with a student who was sick. They'd emailed me prior to my time so I had to patiently wait for help from someone else. They helped a little but I prefer the professional staff's assistance instead of the student. Regardless, I'd go back.

My appointment was for 12pm with "no preference". There were 2 other people there when I arrived, so I asked if they were writing tutors. Neither of them were and nobody else ever showed up. I was very disappointed. I will continue to use the writing center, but only when I have an appointment with a specific person.

Was very helpful on fixing my grammar and focusing on what I mainly asked to get help on. She was very helpful and gave me great advice especially with commas and singular/plural errors. I recommend using the Writing Center when you need your papers reviewed.

I came in to my appointment with a very rough paper. Cameron Oakley was my writing tutor and really helped me put my paper together. I got the flow and organization of my paper during my first meeting and worked on minor things during my second follow up meeting. Every piece of advice helped improve my paper immensely!

After writing my reflection paper I decided I wanted to take it to the writing center because I usually have a problem with comma use and other little things like that. I worked with David Elder. He had me begin reading my paper aloud because things are easier to catch if you can hear it. After a page or two he told me I was doing most of the correcting on my own and he let me work on it myself. This approach allowed me to learn what to look for in the editing process.

Donna Galati was a great help when I needed to revise one of my passport essay. She really helped with organization and making sure my topic sentences were purposeful. Also she really helped me with my pronouns and making them work throughout the essay. I'm really glad my first time to the writing center went that well, I'll definitely go again.

I have been to the writing center before for other paper. I feel comfortable going to one person that helps me with my writing. I always come out of the writing center feeling better about the paper and usually get a better grade at the end.

I would recommend receiving guidance at the writing center. I went in simply to have someone edit my paper and left with a great deal of confidence. My paper started to flow more naturally and at that moment I knew I was going to receive a good grade.

...and to top it all off, the site allowed me to waste an afternoon by making an appointment online with a specific person and then waiting for a call that would never come (since the Writing Center is CLOSED throughout the entire summer). Other than that--great experience! I don't understand how a school offering distance learning programs for teachers across the state can justify a Writing Center that apparently only offers assistance to local and on-campus students. Very disappointing.

With two papers on my proverbial plate at the same time, I was a finicky costumer to have, but my tutor was extremely helpful in the tips she gave as well as the constructive criticisms. It was my first experience with the writing center and the assistance they have to offer. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I will gladly return for more help.

I am not good at explaining what a poem means to me. I went to the writing center and talked to one of the consultants. We talked and bounced ideas off each other. She helped me feel more comfortable writing the paper in general, and I was not dreading to go to my computer and write my paper.
