I would like to have another session and would love to get in touch with her. It was very helpful but 30 minutes felt too short. A serious brain storm would not really be possible. Good for strait feedback as if one is pitching to a VC or Angel.

I had a fantastic discussion with Taj and the session was very helpful to solidify my idea. We did prepare a thorough one page document beforehand which helped Taj to give us very good insights regarding the concept. Taj helped us to give a realistic picture about our plan, identified key weaknesses and how to move forward. I would definetely encourage sounding board as a place to validate ideas and strengthen the pitch. It would be nice if we had more time for discussing the idea in detail.

The advisor I spoke with was an alum about 3 years out of school and currently working for his own start-up. He had reviewed the one-page overview that I sent and asked good questions about my venture. He provided insightful feedback based on our conversation and offered to have a follow up call. Of course, these sessions are very brief but the advisors seem willing to do more to be of real help.

I wanted to meet with Mr. Johnson because of his financial background and he did not disappoint. My objective was for him to preview the financial section of my business plan. We clicked which made it easy for me to readily absorb his suggestions. He emphasized the importance of the financials and how any investor could sense if they are realistic goals thus impacting my credibility. I was impressed that he was willing to give more of his time to review it in its entirety.

I had been kicking around a few concepts, and Phil helped me see the advantages and disadvantages of each. He was supportive and extremely helpful, open to the ideas, inquisitive and discerning. A bit stressful if you're not prepared so be sure to practice your presentation many times before pitching. Also, it helps to work in a group where you take turns presenting and giving feedback. The board will be tough on you, but that's their job.
