    My experience during my health professions advising was excellent. The entire staff is very courteous and professional. Dr. Goode gave great advice and cleared up all misunderstandings about applying and attending Medical School. She recommended several courses and programs to help build my application and gain experience in the field. She takes time to truly prepare her students for a health profession.

    took a long time to schedule an appoinment and within 5 minutes advisor already expecting next appointment, advisor clearly overworked, good counsling but need more time, i have to schedule another appointment to continue discusing my career goals

    Preparing to submit applications to Pharmacy Schools

    Dr. Goode is a great Health Professions advisor! I didn't come in to see her as often as I should because she was a bit intimidating at first but she is so helpful! The receptionist was also very nice when I called to tell her that I was running late due to morning traffic. During the advising, I received tips about applying to Pharmacy Schools and what the schools are currently looking for in a potential pharmacist. This made me feel more confident about the path I am going into.

    critical. helpful.

    I really enjoy having listening to anything Dr. Goode has to say about the health professions. Once again, she told me what I needed to hear. She was blatantly honest when reading my personal statement, and now I have work to do :) She is honest and helpful. I definitely recommend a conversation with her if you're considering pursuing a health profession.

    Dr.Goode and who she is.

    She came at me pretty strong she gave me a harsh reality and especially in the situation I'm in the appointment i had was i a lot to take. Overall i was glad that Dr. Goode was able to take her time and give me all this information. I rather have the information right now then find out about it later in the future so I'm thankful for the health professions advising and the help they gave me, and thank you Dr. Goode!!(:

    Dr. Walker?

    Strangely enough Dr. Goode wasn't able to make it to the appointment, and so I was stuck with Dr. Walker. I've only had him for one course, way back in the fall of my freshman year, so I didn't know exactly what to expect when I went in. We ended up having a great discussion on why I want to do what I want to do and he helped clear a lot of doubt in my mind. My questions weren't exactly direct, but he still managed to give me great advice on what I need to do and how I should go about doing it.

    They know their stuff!!!!!!!!!!!

    Dr. Goode will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. If you are missing something from your resume or aren't ready to apply this year, she'll tell you. She knows the application process and knows what you need to get in.

    A must for pre-health students

    As always, the health professions office was informative and friendly. I have had many advising sessions here, and they all provide me with a little bit of new insight. If you have any questions at all about entering a health profession, do yourself a favor and stop by.

    Very informative

    Started right on time, answered all my questions and more. Time flied by and Dr.Goode made some very good suggestion. She knows her stuff and if you are unsure about a post-bac program talk with her for half a hour is a must.

    Highly recommended

    Everytime after I speak with Dr. Goode, I always feel much more hopeful about my academic future. Not only does she give great advice, she lets you know exactly what you should be focusing on and she helps you prioritize. After every session, I always feel more motivated and more optimistic about my future in general.

    Outstanding

    It wonderful being able to get the perspective and advice from a current admission committee member, especially one from UCI med, one of my top picks. My favorite aspect about Dr.Goode was that she didn't try to butter you up or give you any false hope. Instead shes blunt, too the point, and straight up honest. I love this because it's the only way I'll improve and be competitive.

    FANTASTIC

    The help I was given truly put me on the right track to reaching my goals. She helped me find the perfect approach to my major choice and what classes should be taken at what time in my undergraduate career, as well as helping me find strong clinical research opportunities. I strongly recommend seeing her if you have plans on entering into ANY health profession field.

    Advising

    I met with Dr. Goode as more of a a formality and to hear and learn more about the LSAMP program. She was very personable and quite thorough with her descriptions. She put to easy some of the issues I was worrying about, and I look forward to meeting with her in the future.

    I had a great experience at advising with Dr. Good. I was able to understand how MD's and DO's differ and the major requirements for MD school and DO school. I was also told about great scholarship programs!! Dr. Good was patient and very descriptive, making sure that I understood all the requirements before I left her office.

    Postbac Program

    The HP Advising staff is always friendly and helpful on the phone and in person. I met with Dr. Goode about a week after attending the Info Session. The Info Session was chock full of useful, relevant and easy to understand information. At my appointment, Dr. Goode confirmed some pre-requisite course info and put me in touch with other older students who had successfully completed the Postbac Program and medical school. THANK YOU.

    Questions about pre-med classes

    Very helpful appointment. I obtained all the information I needed. Learned which classes to take and when to take them. Also, specifics on how and when to apply to med school were golden.

    Regarding Optometry school

    I got to talk to Dr. Goode and she was very helpful. She was very knowledgeable and knew a lot about the optometry school I was interested in. She even found a flyer and open house dates that I could come visit the school. I would definitely go back every semester to keep myself updated with any other opportunity.

    Questions Regarding Applying to Medical School

    My appointment with Dr. Good was extremely helpful. After speaking to her, I made major adjustments to my plan in applying to medical school. Dr. Good was able to clear up all my questions regarding how to schedule my classes to how to study for MCAT and when and how to apply. I would highly recommend an appointment with Dr. Good for pre-med/health students.

    General Meeting with Dr. Goode

    Dr. Goode gave me a great over view of what will be ahead of me since I'm only a first year. I went in knowing what I had to accomplish during schooling, but didn't know when I need to do things. She helped clear up when I had to get things started and done by. She also introduced me to clubs on campus that would help develop my interest in the medical field.

    Dr. Goode was extremely helpful. She was very honest and treated my application as if she was a committee member. She gave constructive criticism, and even though it was harsh, it was a very real-world analysis of my essays and resume.

    Very positive experience : )

    My last advising meeting was extremely helpful in getting more information about academic programs and the professional school application process including school choices, efficient test preparation and personal statement inspiration. I left the office feeling better informed, motivated and reassured that I am spending my time wisely in getting ready to submit my applications for the next step in my education and life.     I would have been better off without the advisement

    I needed advising because I'm senior about to graduate with a low GPA and I wanted to know my options. I wasn't given any options, but rather a lecture and discouragement. I was cut off while trying to provide background on my situation. The meeting was cut short because I was a day early for my appointment and I chose to skip my actual appointment since I had received enough "advising". Dr. Goode seems to have one piece of advice for struggling health professions students and that is: give up.

    Have questions?.....Make an appointment!

    I have to say these advising sessions have to be one of the most helpful and informative advising sessions I have been to. Dr. Goode knows anything and everything that you need to know about not only applying to dental school, but to succeed as a dental student as well. She always provides quality information that is priceless. She not only informed about the application process but she informed me of the many research programs available on campus.

    If you're wondering what to do...Make an appointment!

    (appt. Jan. 2011) Dr. Goode's advice is extremely helpful. She provides you with honest examples and reasoning that will surely help you decide on what to do if you're stuck on a health career or not. Just make an appointment and let Dr. Goode give you priceless advice. If you're serious about gaining information that you can actually DO something with, then Health Professions Advising is the place to go!

    Very informative meeting

    Very Helpful

    I'm quite glad I made the trip out to Fullerton to talk to Dr. Goode in person. She was able to my answer all of my questions about the post-bacc program precisely and in a friendly, hospitable manner. Thanks again for the helpful info and advice!

    Goode Advice

    Dr. Goode was very sufficient in advising me on all my goals and expectations for the Post Bacc program. Her helpful advice will prove essential in my course as a student here at CSUF. She was very honest and realistic but at the same time encouraging of all my goals. SHE KEEPS IT REAL!!!

    Awesome but not enough available advising sessions

    Overall it was very good. Dr. Goode is always helpful and always answers my questions fully and waits until I'm finished talking or answering questions. But there are only a few available advising sessions, and there were so many people there at walk-in that I felt rushed. Also Dr. Goode is SUPER nice!

    I spent a half hour discussing my options for going to medical school. So far my research indicates that this is the best program for a non-science major like myself. I appreciated the time she spent confirming and explaining what I could expect from this program. Thank you.

    Eye opening!

    I am so glad I went in to see Dr. Goode when I did. I am looking to enter a Physician Assistant program after graduating. The advising with Dr. Goode made me come to the realization that I was on the wrong track and she quickly set me up with the right one. I was unaware of all the classes I needed take along with my Health Science classes. This was a very important session and I'm so glad I have some sort of a vision of what I need to be doing to reach my goals.

    Very Helpful

    Dr. Goode was very helpful in providing me with the necessary information to guide me through the upcoming class registration. She not only explained a bit about some of the courses that I needed to take, she also told me to be prepared because of the level of difficulty it was. Overall I really thought that the advisement was helpful and honest.

    Post-Bacc Advising

    I strongly suggest meeting with Dr. Goode if you are contemplating a career in healthcare; you will receive genuine and honest feedback. I have visited the Health Professions Advising office several times this year, and the entire staff is wonderful and has treated me very well.     Undergraduate Health Advising

    Dr. Goode was extremely helpful. I took note of all the concerns and advice she offered from my first advising meeting, and I came back to report on the progress I had made since. I was glad to hear her commend me on the the improvements I made over the summer. At the same time, she brought up some new concerns and provided a few suggestions for my path towards applying for medical school. It was all constructive and very beneficial.

    Dr. Goode was very helpful. She provided an insightful, realistic and honest assessment of me and my suitability for both medical school and the post bacc program. Not many schools provide this sort of advising, especially to potential applicants, so this was very much appreciated.

    Dr. Goode not only gives great advice, but is honest and thorough. She is helpful and friendly. If you have any questions about the program or any doubts about entering the program, Dr. Goode is by far one of the greatest advisers i have spoken to.

    Prof. Walker, who was filling in, was very knowledgeable about the program and was able to answer all my questions.     Good summary of the program

    The advising wasn't very long but it was stellar in its short time. I learned a lot about the post-bac program at CSF and am still considering it at this time. Professor Walker got back to me immediately regarding a chemistry queston that I had. I appreciate the prompt service. I would go back to advising in a heartbeat if I move forward with the application process.

    Great Advice

    The advising went well. I went in there not knowing anything about med school and such but came out with a lot more knowledge than I started with. I was shown a path on how to get to my goal which is what I asked for. Only complaint would be that the appointment was a little brief but I got all the information I wanted or at least most of it. So it is all good.

    My visit with Dr. Goode was mainly on reading my personal statement for Medical School. She has great experience in the health professions and it would do you well to ask for her advice. I received valuable feedback about the personal statement and explained my position in the application process. All in all, very much recommended.

    I found the advising that Dr. Goode gave me to be extremely helpful.     Great Insight

    Dr. Goode was great in emphasizing certain aspects of a competitive resume. Although I had been told by my peers which parts of a resume are important and which are not important, it was important for me to hear it from someone as credible as Dr. Goode.     POOR SERVICE!

    Not very helpful or knowledgeable. Did not seem to care or show interest in my goals/ aspirations. Made me feel discouraged, like the task was hopeless. Did not provide any further information that i needed. All information I could of just looked up online. A complete waste of time.

    Informative and VERY knowledgeable

    I made a phone appointment to speak with someone regarding osteopathic vs. allopathic medical schools. The staff member I spoke with was clearly experienced in addressing my situation and very knowledgeable. She took the time to explain small details about my questions that I have had trouble obtaining answers for elsewhere. Very helpful!

    A knowledgeable and highly resourceful staff!

    I was instantly greeted with a warm smile the moment I walked in the door. The receptionist took her time and answered all of my questions over the phone prior to my appointment. In addition, the advisor went over my allotted time and gave me all the details to what the program would entail, the different types of programs, as well as, the pre-requisite classes I will be needing.

    Excellent Advice & Genuine Care

    Unfortunately, during the course of my discussion I discovered that previous science courses disqualified me from the post-bacc program. However, the discussion helped me to gain better insight as to how to pursue a career in medicine. At this stage in my life (with a family that needs my provision), I cannot afford to make an uninformed decision. The advice that I received in my appointment helped to clarify potential options.
