Very Helpful

I was very unsure of my speech outline when I went for my appoinment. I had a great experience and now feel more confident with my upcoming speech. I will go to more appointments. They were very helpful with revising and helping me improve my outline and speech.

Going to Oral Communication Center for Speech 2

The oral communication center helped me out quite a bit. I was able to practice my speech and get a bit more confident. I also learned that I needed a better attention getter. It was worthwhile, and the assistant there was really nice.

Very Helpful and a great resource

The center is very helpful and a great resource on campus. The advice that I was given about my speech was very helpful and then watching myself from the video tape was really helpful as well.

wonderful help!

Oral communication provided assistants to help students with outline which is very beneficial to us. I was out of clue of how to write better of my outline. Anthony Fleak helped me with each every detail, and much patiently, also he follows his responsibility by email to ask if I still have questions I can email to him even on Thanksgiving. My outline got improved to score 10 on 4th speech. This was first time I got 10. I am so happy and appreciated with his help.

Oral Communication Center Appt.

I showed up at the center at the time of the scheduled appointment and waited until 15 min after, and no one showed up. I even asked the faculty members and other people who had offices in that hallway, and no one knew who was suppose to be there or show up to help me out. I was extremely dissapointed.

Dissatisfied

I scheduled an appointment and was disappointed to find that I was not met on time. In addition, my meeting provided me with minimal help with my speech. The person helping me undoubtedly meant well and tried to help, but I was overall dissatisfied with the time I spent in the Oral Communication Center.

Great Help!

The Tutor I worked with helped me sit down and organize my speech. We went through it step-by-step and was very helpful. She was able to aszwer all my questions and re-explained something when It didn't quite make sense. I will definitely be going there for my last two speeches.

Fist Visit

My first visit was very rewarding. As soon as i came in we were able to start working. My tutor knew what i had planned to work on which was very helpful, i only had to explain minor details. Also receiving help on my outline, expanind and consolidating ideas made me much more comfortable with what i would soon be presenting in my class.

My First Visit

Going to the Oral Communications Center was the best idea ever. The tutor that I had was EXTREMELY helpful and VERY kind. I was able to get my entire speech written out in 30 minutes. I will definitely be going back if i need any more assistants.

I had Dean and he was pretty cool. He told me an organizational pattern that I used, so overall the visit was successful, but I think if you don't have a specific problem this service is kinda useless.

Helpful and Effective

The OCC was very helpful! I have and will continue to recommend people to go to the OCC for help. I did not feel out of place asking for help, and everyone was always very kind and willing to answer my questions effectively.

Very Helpful

I found the staff very helpful, patient, and interactive. They took the time to give me help on other aspects of my speech i had not orginally even come in for.....very impressed.... was very comfortable i will def be going back again.

Good Start to a Good Visit

When I went to the Oral Communication Center, I was pleased that someone was there to meet me at my appointed time. The fact that we could start right on time was a great way to start the session. Overall I enjoyed the feedback and input I received, although I would suggest that the people who meet with you work on coming up with different ways to tie main points together. Saying "next I will talk about" in one sentence and in the next "the next step is" was too repetitive.

My speech rocked

I just came in for a few pointers, and they gave good pointers on how to improve my outline, and trim it down to meet the time constraints. It didn't suck to begin with, but i rocked it out when the time came and the advise did help.

Love the Oral Communication Center

I was having problems with my fourth speech. I was doing my speech on if being on organ donation was a good idea. I wasn’t really sure how to set up my speech because I did a survey in my class and 98% of the students said they agreed with Organ Donation. I went to the oral communications center and the girl that helped me was wonderful. She helped me with everything and I believe I got an A or B on my speech.

I felt the ladies that worked in the Oral Communication lab were very helpful and very nice. The advice was very useful, and I felt that they knew what they were doing. A great place for people to go if they need a little extra help.
