    Janelle did a so so massage - felt like a back rub with lotion, not a massage. Not crazy about the new location - I could hear folks talking in the wait area while I was having my massage.

    Pretty decent

    First visit-Would have been nice if the receptionist could have offered a drink of water, rather drying her nails.It was only when I met my therapist that she offered some water. Appointment did not start on time,which was a bit irritating (about 20 minutes or so behind) Massage was good- had deep tissue and I felt mostly relaxed afterwards. Technique-wise, she could have dug more into loosening the knots in my back. I would consider returning in the future.

    Awesome Bikini Wax

    I received the most awesome bikini wax ever from Donna yesterday. It was my first time so I was a bit nervous but Donna was very soothing and talked me threw the entire experience and before I knew it, it was done and I LOVE IT. :-)

    Fantastic Signature Massage by Janelle

    I received an excellent "Signature Massage" from Janelle yesterday afternoon. I requested deep tissue work due to tense muscles in back/shoulders/neck courtesy of being an "office drone". It was intense just as I had requested, but the final result was absolutely worth it. I could barely peel myself off the table during the 15 minute relaxation period following the massage because I was so relaxed and just about fell asleep.

    Couple Massage Instruction

    The massage instruction by Tracie was absolutely fabulous! She is excellent at giving massages - she used great pressure to get my knots out and I felt completely relaxed afterwards. She is also a great instructor and a lot of fun if you sign up for the massage instruction.

    Janelle is the best

    Just had my 2nd massage from Janelle. I've been to a number of massage therapists over the years but she is the best. If you like strong pressure and have some major knots she will get them worked out. Do yourself a favor and spring for the full 90 minutes. Its worth it.

    Excellent Service!

    My first time here and I must say I was quite impressed by the service and staff. I was almost 45 minutes late due to traffic, and Silvia was still able to give me a 40 minute massage and I was offered a free half an hour upon my next visit to make up for the time lost. I had a prenatal massage and Silvia's hands were like magic, I am looking forward to my next appointment!

    OMFG! Were the first words a said after my massage with Silvia

    I have been getting massages for 25 years and there are a few things that separate an average massage from a great one. 1. A therapist who asks you what you need. 2. He/she listens to your body(some therapists just do the same thing on every body and it shows). 3. When you return they ask what you would like different. Silvia did all this and more. And who new there was such a thing as an hour massage that lasts 60+ minutes?--usually they are 45-50 minutes. She's incredible.

    Great prenatal by Silvia

    Silvia is a great masseuse -- very personable and easy to open up to. She gave me a great prenatal massage, along with great maternity advice! I'll definitely be going back for more massages during my pregnancy and beyond.

    OK service, Appt scheduling was awkward

    I scheduled my last service a month in advance and scheduled with Arnetta, because I find her waxing technique less painful than others. A day before my appointment, I was called and told that Arnetta would not be in the next day, and that I had to change my appointment time and have someone else do it. But when I arrived for my new appointment time the following day, Arnetta checked me in -- even though I was told she wouldn't be there. I wasn't offered any discount for the awkwardness.

    Will go back!

    Wonderful experience. Everyone made me feel really comfortable. Had my first Brazilian I was scared out of mind but Arnetta is soo cool and explained what i should expect.. After that I knew I was in good hands.. I will go back!

    Prenatal Massage

    The best Prenatal massage I have ever had! 90 minutes massage in week 38 was what I needed. Silvia did some magic on my back which was bothering me a lot. Lying on my belly was amazing and very relaxing. I have been to a lot of massage places but this one was by far the best experience I have ever had!

    First professional massage and I am hooked!!

    I had my first professional massage with Tracie and it was absolutely fabulous! She made me feel so comfortable, and I learned a lot about self-care to minimize stress and muscular tension.     Spray tans are awesome

    Especially when they are done by a person, not a machine. The woman made sure the color was completely even and gave me all the information I needed to ensure the color lasts as long as possible. Definitely going to go back!

    Lovely place, great massage

    I went in for an induction massage yesterday, being 40 weeks, 4 days. Tracie was lovely, thoughtful and warm, and the ambiance was great. Now let's just hope this baby comes out soon!

    Better than the J Sisters!

    I used to live in NYC and frequented the Jsisters after seeing them on Oprah. I had a VERY difficult time finding anyone in the tri state area that could compare. And I must say that, Arnetta is better. She is the BEST. She exceeded all my expectations and I'm now a regular at Spa on the Hill. Great service and a great price!

    Wonderful service every time

    I go to Donna for facials and eyebrows (wax and tint). Donna is very professional and friendly. I don't have to tell her what my skin needs and when she is done my pores are clean and my skin is moist, firm, and glowing! I have very difficult eyebrows and Donna is very careful to keep them looking healthy and even. It's always a relaxing and rejuvenating experience.

    Janelle is awesome

    I had a prenatal massage with Janelle, and it was fantastic. Even though I was 37 weeks pregnant, Janelle was able to work trouble spots on a deep-tissue level (which I prefer) without making me or my belly feel uncomfortable. It's a testament to how experienced she is - as a general massage therapist skilled at finding trouble spots, as well as one who knows how to work with gently with pregnant bodies. Whenever I need a massage, it'll be with Janelle and with Spa on the Hill.

    Fantastic massage

    Got an excellent massage from Silvia, who can look at you and tell exactly where your stress/tension lies. Spa on the Hill's staff is wonderful and there's something so nice about stepping into a charming row house (versus generic commercial spa) for a treatment. A relaxing, restorative experience all around.

    Professional, Excellent Service

    I have been going to Arnetta for Brazilian waxing for about 1 year. She is completely professional, friendly, and quick. I have very sensitive skin, but have never had trouble following her waxing. It is also the least painful Brazilian I have had. I HIGHLY recommend SOTH.

    Just what I needed!

    I booked a 60-minute therapeutic massage and it was absolutely wonderful! I received a couple spa finder gift cards from hubby and used spa finder.com to find a spa. I'm so glad I choose SOTH! Janelle was my masseuse and did an outstanding job. She has amazing hands! I was so relaxed that I could've taken a nap. I only wish I'd booked 90-minutes. I definitely recommend this spa.

    A great experience!

    cute spa, bad policy on Spafinder cards

    My massage was good and the spa was cute. However, I used a Spa Finder gift card and I was very disappointed that SPOTH would only give me SPOTH credit for the unused balance instead of giving it back to me as Spa Finder credit. In these situations, if SPOTH cannot leave the balance on the gift card, I would suggest that SPOTH redeem the whole thing and give the client the difference in cash. It would have made me a much happier client and I wouldn't feel forced into going back.

    Great facial, highly recommended

    I am a 31-year old male who had never had a facial before. My fiancee booked an appointment for me at Spa on the Hill. I thoroughly enjoyed it -- it was so relaxing that, once it was finished, it took me a moment to be able to move my muscles again. Once you're inside, it's hard to believe you're still in D.C.

She is professional and good at her job, and she has the ability to help clients relax -- a good asset for someone doing this work. When my appointment needed to be pushed back due to an unexpected delay, her staff called and emailed me to let me know.

    Amazing massage

    Silvia is a wonderful massage therapist. She listens to your needs, but also pays great attention to what your body needs. My boyfriend and I have been to her numerous times and we absolutely love her! She is incredibly therapeutic, knowledgeable and wonderful.

    Awkward start but very relaxing end

    I received a 45 min aromatherapy massage. During the consultation my therapist asked what was bothering me and I explained that my upper back is always tense. She then suggested she focus the entire 45 minutes on that area. I told her that was not my expectation and she clarified that she didn't want me to think that she was neglecting certain parts since we only had 45 min. Long story short she did a wonderful full body massage and I left refreshed and feeling amazing.

    Awesome couple’s massage! Very professional & took the time to review our info with us. Our comfort was priority & it was an absolutely relaxing experience. My massage was the best one I've ever had! Good pressure & targeted all the areas requested. We had refreshments after the massage which was a nice touch & allowed us to really take in the whole experience. The atmosphere is tranquil and quaint... in an old row home & very low key. Spa on the Hill is classy, yet down to earth.

    My hour and a half signature massage with Tracie was worth every penny. From the moment you walk in the door, you begin to relax in this oasis on the hill. The staff is friendly and welcoming, while the environment is warm and calming. The massage Tracie provided was one of the best ever! And the fruit plate at the end topped off the experience.     Great experience!

    I had such great experience with Donna at the spa. Got a bye bye breakout facial and my skin allready after one day feels so much better. The setting was perfect and felt clean. the temperature in the room was also very comfortable. Donna felt knowledgeable and understanding and was talkative but not in an intrusive way at all!! If my skin keeps feeling break out prone I will definetly go back!

    Fantastic first facial experience

    Took my bf as a V Day treat- first facial experience for either of us. I had basic, he had men's. We were very pleased! All of the flakiness was gone from his face- he looked amazing! We are def going back!

    Postnatal massage

    Great postnatal massage. I specifically requested deep tissue massage, didn't want a fluffy experience. She worked on the entire body and focused on lower back. The body pillow also made lying chest down very comfortable!

    I had had a terrible ache in my shoulder for days. While not cured, I was almost a new person when I left. Everything was very professional, comfortable and wonderfully relaxing.

    Wonderful prenatal massage

    I received a certificate for a 90-minute prenatal massage from my husband, This is probably the best massage I have ever had. Very relaxing and soothing. Afterwards, I was offered a very nice food tray consisting of chocolate covered cookies, crackers with cheese and strawberries - Quite yummy. I will be scheduling another massage again based on my experience.

    I've been coming to Spa on the HIll for a few months now for post-partum massages. Tracie is fantastic. She always listens to what I need. The spa is clean and the massage rooms are large and comfortable. Everyone who works there is incredibly nice and professional. I'll keep coming back!!

    Perfect Touch

    Traci gave me a terrific signature massage! This was my first time to the spa (using a Spafinder gift certificate), and I'll definitely be back. She has magic hands! My room and private bath were lovely. My only suggestion is that employees keep their voices down in the hallways/stairwells as the sound carries easily.

    Wonderful!

    I had an organic wellness facial with Donna! It was great! I appreciated that when she did the extractions she used her "fingers with cotton gloves" (as she explained) rather than the metal tools... it didn't hurt at all, but was still effective! She also gave me a little back/neck massage and hand massage, which I also loved... really great experience, and will definitely go back again!

    It was a great and relaxing experience. The atmosphere was quiet and warm. The receptionist Sonovia was so helpful and very sweet. My massage therapist Silvia was very knowledge able and knew where a lot of tension points were to focus on. If you need a deep tissue massage. She is def the one!

    Amazing Service!

    The most amazing birthday present ever! Facial with Donna was wonderful. She entertained my conversations and was so personable. And the facial itself was incredibly relaxing even though we were talking. Tracie gave me the best massage I've ever had and that's saying something considering I'm an MT, massage instructor and former spa owner! I miss SOTH very much and am glad to see it doing so well!!!

    90 Minutes of Heaven

    So I started going to Spa On The Hill when I was pregnant. My daughter is now two and I still enjoy SOTH!! I got the Signature Massage this time and it was awesome. Janelle is really good and put me to sleep. I certainly recommend SOTH and maybe I'll see you there!

    The best!

    I've had some bad massages in the past, from the therapist who wanted to give me her life story during my massage to leaving and feeling like I was in a car accident. After complaining to my husband about the terrible massages I've had in the past, he booked an appointment for me at Spa on the Hill. I really enjoyed my massage from Janelle. She made me feel comfortable, relaxed and not rushed. I will definitely be back before and after I have my baby.

    Induction Massage Worked For Me

    I had the induction massage with Sylvia during my 39th week of pregnancy to prepare my body for labor. The massage was great, but more notably, it was very effective! During the massage, Sylvia applied pressure to certain pressure points on my body and warned me that I may experience some contractions. Sure enough, I had some mild contractions while on the massage table. The morning after my massage, I went into labor. I'd highly recommend this massage to anyone at or past their due date.

    I went for the first time to Spa on the Hill and got a brazilian wax from Donna. She did a great job and it was done relatively quickly. I appreciated her approach and her effort to keep me comfortable. I would recommend Spa on the Hill and most likely go back again.

    Best massage I have had in a while!

    The massage was fantastic - I did the induction massage and there was a little less focus on that part than I wanted but in general the massage pressure and technique were great and completely relaxing! Well worth it!

    Definition of Service

    Spa on the Hill has it all. They are make it easy. As a guy, I was skeptical to get a massage for a lower back problem. A couple of sessions later, and following their advice, I was feeling 100%. Since my first visit, not only have I returned and expect to far into the future, but I have arranged for massages for 4 friends returning from overseas. They are great.

    Lovely little spa

    This is one of the best kept secrets on the Hill. It's a very nice spa in a cute little rowhouse near Eastern Market. Janelle is the best massage therapist I've ever had. She listens carefully to what I say regarding my muscle pain issues and then works on those areas specifically, plus a full-body massage. She is awesome and I'll be back for as long as she's there.

    Just had my 2nd massage at Spa on the Hill with Janelle ---- and it was amazing! I came in because I had been suffering chronic neck and shoulder pain.     I went to Spa on the Hill for a 60-min signature massage as a birthday gift. It was great! The location is cute and convenient and the staff were all incredibly friendly. My massage therapist listened to what I said about my muscle tension and gave me a great massage, as well as some tips to help reduce it. Great ambiance, great staff! I'll definitely be going back. Online scheduling is also a huge plus.

    Excellent Prenatal Massage

    When I scheduled my prenatal massage with Sylvia I was in terrible shape. My back hurt, my hands were swollen & numb, and I could not walk without shooting pains in my hips (common 3rd tri issues). Sylvia took time to understand my concerns & tailored her massage to address my issues. I woke up the next morning feeling like a new person (and about 40 years younger). My range of motion and mobility had dramatically improved. I will definitely be back for another massage soon! Thanks Sylvia!

    After testing out several other DC salons, I have found my permanent go to spot for waxing. Arnetta put me completely at ease and made the whole experience fun, which is something I never thought I would say about a bikini wax.     I've gone to Spa on the Hill a few times for brazilians with Arnetta and she is fantastic every time. I've never had someone be so maticulous, yet fast at the same time.     Staff was great, especially Arnetta. I got a Brazilian and while it wasn't exactly the least painful wax I'd ever had, Arnetta was nice enough to engage in conversation to keep me distracted.     I had a massage session with Sylvia. Words cannot describe her expertise and skills. She focused on my neck, shoulders, and head. I actually had a headache when I arrived and she sensed it. Her initial goal was to remove my headache, as well as, the tension associated it with it. Im not sure what she did, but my headache disappeared, my relaxation increased, and my stress declined. I walked out of Spa on the Hill feeling like a noodle. Ha! I will definitely be back. Please visit her!

    Donna did a wonderful job on my brows. I have difficult brows and a typical wax will take out too many hairs and leave little bald patches. One brow is worse than the other. Donna knew what she was doing - she didn't take too much hair with the wax and finished off the job with plucking. My brows haven't looked this shaped and neat for years! Thank you Donna.

    Diagnosed with osteoarthritis, I’m trying massage therapy in lieu of surgery. My masseuse, Tracy, was genuinely interested in my needs and concerns, providing me with insightful counseling, and she worked tirelessly to ensure I would receive as much help as possible. My symptoms did not vanish, but from the results, I know I will continue. One surprise: No matter how much pressure Tracey put on my spine and hip (I requested medium pressure), absolutely nothing hurt during the massage.

    I have been stressed. More than words can even begin to express. My husband had used Silvia for a reflexology appt and said I would love her....And he was absolutely right. With her positive energy, and energetic personality you can't go wrong! Her knowledge of how the body works, and her ability to find the "right" spot was impressive. By the end I felt better than I had in weeks, and left with my body feeling relaxed, and my mind more centered. Can't wait to go back!

    Silvia is a miracle worker!

    I'd been experiencing intermittent, sharp pain in my foot for over a month. After 45 minutes with Silvia, the source of the pain -- a "trigger point," she explained -- was gone. Unbelievable!

    I called and got a same day appointment, which was wonderful. I'm also 30 weeks pregnant, and the therapist was quick to adapt the table with cushions, etc. for my appointment. The massage was relaxing and just what I needed.     Great Place!

    i had the most amazing massage there the other day. My favorite part is that they give you 15 minutes of relaxation after the massage which I love because I never feel like getting up right away and they bring you a small tray of food. It was a super relaxation experience and the women who did my massage was awesome! I highly recommend!

    I had the Key Lime Facial and was very pleased with the results! It left my skin really smooth and clean. The organic products they are using are fabulous.     I've had massages at Spa on the Hill before (love 'em) but yesterday I got a "short and sweet" facial with Donna and it was fantastic! I just had the cheapest option and thought it would be a pretty fast once-over, but it seemed as thorough as a full facial. she did steam and extractions and lots of pampering, plus she massaged my hands and decolletage/upper back while I had a mask on. the whole experience was great. highly recommended

    I was pleased with the one-hour Signature Massage I received from Sylvia. The massage table was heated and I enjoyed the warm towels she used to prop my neck and wrap my feet.     I received a gift certificate for SOTH for a prenatal massage. At, what feels like a millinon weeks pregnant, it was nice to have attention paid to all the sores spots which are mostly my hips and lower back.     I scheduled a 60-minute therapeutic massage after a half marathon. Lauren honed in on every tight sinew of my back and shoulders without even being directed. She was patient and thorough and didn't rush through the difficult areas. She has a very calm, professional, and relaxing demeanor and took time before the massage to see what areas were giving me the most grief. I walked away (not limping) feeling like a million bucks!!

    Wonderful Facial- Arnetta was GREAT!

    I had the Organic Wellness facial this week and it was great. Arnetta was very professional and efficient. I found the whole thing very relaxing (except for the extractions, maybe). Arnetta also offered some great tips for keeping my skin moisturized and looking good until my next facial. I'll definitely be back.

    Totally amazing

    I had my first Brazilian wax at Spa on the Hill. Arnetta was great. She made me totally comfortable. THe spa was clean and comfortable. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Spa on the Hill and will be back.

    Best bikini wax in dc

    Getting a bikini wax is never fun, but Arnetta makes it as painless as possible, and most importantly, she's fast! I had a Brazilian and was done in 15 minutes. I've been to other places on the hill that have taken 45 minutes to an hour, and the experience was simply torture. Arnetta is quick and she talks to you throughout the procedure, which helps take your mind off of what's going on down there. I also seem to get fewer ingrowns when I go to her. Five stars.

    Best facial ever!

    I saw Donna for a Bye-Bye breakouts facial and it was the best facial I've ever had. No red marks from extractions and she took care of my sensitive skin and rosacea. It was the best facial ever! And so relaxing. I will absolutely go again.

    Good massage

    This was my first visit at Spa on the Hill. The ambiance is pleasant and it's very convenient to my home. Janelle is a good therapist and followed my directions about light touch but maybe too much so. I am looking forward to going back in a few weeks and will use her again. Sometiimes you just need to work with a massage therapist a couple of times to communicate your needs.

    Great experience!

    I tried Spa on the Hill because it was close to home and got good reviews. I loved it and will definitely be back! The spa was clean and relaxing, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Silvia gave me a choice to either have the full massage I had booked or to spend the time on problem areas (my neck and shoulders.) I chose the latter and have already booked my next session! I'm thrilled to have found such a great spa in my own neighborhood.

    Great spa

    The spa may not look like much from outside, but it's so nice inside. I really enjoyed my massage with Lauren. It was so relaxing, I actually fell asleep at one point. I will be going back and would definitely recommend to others.

    Great place so close to home.

    My husband gave me a gift certificate for Christmas for a massage. After my fabulous massage I told him I wanted the same gift for Valentines Day, Easter, Flag Day, 4th of July, my birthday, our anniversary, Labor Day, etc. He will never have to think of another gift. I have felt so good since my massage. My aches and pains are gone. The staff is courteous and it is a peaceful environment. I will be a repeat customer.

    Hidden Gem

    I couldn’t have been happier to find this hidden gem in capitol hill. Everything was expertly handled and thoroughly relaxing. I even fell asleep at one point I was so relaxed. And this may seem like an inconsequential thing, but for me the biggest factor is that this is the first spa to truly respect my wishes to avoid a specific area (due to severe ticklishness) during the body treatments and massage. I will definitely be going back to this spa.

    Incredibly Relaxing!!!

    I just moved in the area and was recommended to visit Spa on the Hill for a deep tissue massage. I am SO glad I was recommended this place. Not only is the atmosphere relaxing, but my massage therapist, Lauren, did an amazing job at keeping me comfortable and relaxed. Although the massage was a little painful (it was a deep tissue, so I expected it to be a little painful), I walked out with the biggest smile on my face, and felt 110% better than I did when I walked in.

    Great Massage, Great Atmosphere

    I loved the place and I loved Janelle. She listened to my concerns and also was very receptive to my preferences (ie I really like deep tissue massage even if it hurts a bit). If it weren't so expensive, I would surely go back. In fact, if I ever come into millions of dollars, I'll have a massage there every week (and gift them to others as well)!

    Learned New Things About My Body

    My massage with Silvia at the Spa on the Hill was the best massage of my life. I am a drummer and have been having some pain in my hands. Silvia was not only able to tell exactly where the source of the tension was and relax it, she was able to give me concrete recommendations for how to prevent this tension from building up in the future. You couldn't ask for more from a massage!

    Wonderful!

    Donna gave me a wonderful facial. I had come in due to some mild breakouts and she did wonders! She was very sensitive to what I was asking and explained each step of the process,which I appreciated. The spa itself is a small converted townhouse, giving it a cozy feel and a personal touch.     Simple and Gorgeus Airbrush Tanning

    Went in a for quick tan on a weeknight. Super friendly staff and a beautiful results. My only complaint is that there isn't a lot of privacy. The "tent" is in a room just off the lobby with only a curtain separating and there is a window in the back of the tanning room with only a sheer curtain. Other than that, perfect.

    Lovely location, good service

    This was my first visit to Spa on the Hill. The location is lovely and peaceful. I booked the signature massage, which is 60 minutes. What I didn't know is that it comes with a foot scrub and plate of refreshments. My masseuse was running late, probably by 10-15 minutes. She started off my treatment by telling me about the foot scrub and also asking if I wanted to just skip it. The massage was very good at times, but at other times felt like I was just being moisturized rather than massaged.

    I booked a last minute appt. with Rebecca and she was able to work out a lot of stress in my shoulders, neck and back. I have had massages all over the US, and I will book again with Rebecca.

    First time Getting Waxed!

    After having several conversations with friends I finally got up enough nerve to get a brazilian wax! Having all sorts of fear of the potential pain and not to mention the humiliation of being exposed...it actually wasn't bad! The pain was minimal and the professionalism demonstrated by Arnetta was top notch!!! They recognize the clients discomfort and she really makes you feel comfortable considering the circumstances!!!     Great Place for Pre-Natal Service

    Spa on the Hill was a wonderful experience. I had the 90-minute signature Pre-Natal massage and they really did a wonderful job hitting all my sore aches and pains! The staff was very cordial, the spa's environment was very relaxing and quaint. I would definitely recommend this for any woman expecting a child as a great way to unwind. Am very thankful my husband surprised me with this for our anniversary! Highly recommend!

    I took my husband for a couples massage on his birthday. We have had massages before, but this was by far the best.     Becky is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

    Just a few months pregnant, I started getting massages with Becky to relieve my stress about potentially losing another baby. I bought a package of 5 massages to force myself not to make excuses for not going. Becky literally got me through my entire pregnancy and now that my dear Chanel is 16 months old and a whopping 28 pounds, Becky continues to relieve my neck, shoulder, and back pain.     Great Waxing Experience

    After reading literally hundreds of reviews of various spas/waxers in D.C., I chose Spa on the Hill because of the great things I'd read about Arnetta. I'm SO glad that I did. This was my first Brazilian (actually, my first wax of anything), but Arnetta made me feel completely comfortable. It was quick and there was very minimal discomfort (which is expected w/ a bikini wax), but no pain. Arnetta has a sweet personality and she knows what she's doing.     My first Brazilian

    I went to Spa on the Hill for my first Brazilian wax. Being relatively new to bikini waxes in general, I was pretty nervous. Arnetta did a wonderful job and I have to say that waxing was practically painless! The facilities were clean, relaxing, and I loved that the decor had a little personality. Very charming!     I came for stress management, I unloaded my life onto Sylvia and I was in good hands. Lovely home atmosphere, pricey, but it's the hill and it's worth it when I can cruise there by bike. Lovely front desk guy, easy in and out process. I'll be going back next month.

    GREAT experience

    Arnetta one of the owners couldn't have been more welcoming and wonderful...she fit me in last minute, offered some light eats and water while I waited for my massage. Sylvia's prenatal massage was fabulous and she explained some of the back pain I have been having, worked a lot of it out and gave me some pointers for keeping it loose.     Awesome Prenatal Massage!

    I had the most wonderful experience at Spa on The Hill! The staff are incredibly friendly, the location is super convenient, and my masseuse Janelle was amazing!     Great 60 Minute Massage

    I was so pleasantly surprised by the spa environment and the health benefits of the massage. Often times, you can get a really decadent relaxing experience or have a therapeutic massage (not always both). The massage here both unkinked some very tense muscles and was highly enjoyable.     Great Deep Tissue Massage

    I had a 45 deep tissue Massage with Janelle. Even though it was only 45 min she was great and really massaged and stretched what felt like every muscle in my body. She massages with pretty firm pressure for anyone who is an athlete and has tight muscles. The place is very quaint and cute and I would definitely recommend it to others and come back again.     Excellent first visit!

    I went to Spa on the Hill for a brazillian with Arnetta using a buywithme voucher and it was great! Obviously a brazillian is going to be painful but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and Arnetta was fast and professional and made me feel a lot more at ease because she was very friendly. I don't know when I will go again but I definitely will and highly recommend Spa on the Hill to anyone else!

    Best Brazillian Wax!!

    I had a Brazilian wax with Arnetta and I would definitely go back. I’ve had Brazillians in the past, but not as well done as with SOTH. First, Arnetta had great bedside manner and second, it barely hurt. In addition, the space is very inviting. I haven’t tried the other services, but I’m confident that they are all just as good. I think anyone coming here would be pleased with the service.

    Excellent Signature & Prenatal Massage/Hypnobirthing Class

    I have been the lucky recipient of two wonderful massages at Spa on the Hill: prenatal and Signature. Both were heavenly. The prenatal massage was fantastic even before the massage started - with their pillow system I was able to lie on my belly for a while, something I hadn't done in months! And it just got better. My husband and I took a hypnobirthing class there with Laura, and it was a great experience, as well.

    Best Deep Tissue Massage EVER

    I had a Buy With Me voucher and wasn't quite sure what to expect, but the yelp reviews were pretty good, so I gave it a shot. So glad I did. Janelle gave me the best deep tissue massage I've ever gotten, and I've been getting massages for years. The place is nice and quiet and the staff were very friendly and pleasant.     Great Spray Tan!

    Tiyonna applied a GREAT tan to my incredibly pasty, pale skin. The color came out natural and perfectly placed - I look like I've had a week at the beach. Perfect bronzing, gradient in the right areas, and no orange lines! This is my new favorite thing. And the fact that this magical transformation only took a matter of minutes to apply is the best part.

    An amazind and relaxing afternoon!

    I had a 90 min signature massage w/ Silva. Fantastic! I was relaxed & destressed and felt wonderful afterward. She was responsive to my needs & really worked the areas that I requested. I also enjoyed having time afterward to eat a delightful snack, drink water and enjoy my spa experience. If you live on the hill it couldn't be more convenient and is similarly priced to many of the other spas in the area. Why schlep to Georgetown when you can have a better experience in your neighborhood.

    Arenetta is AMAZING!!

    Arenetta is super nice and does an amazing job. She does not take short cuts with her work and makes sure you leave feeling great and satisfied. I got an organic wellness facial yesterday and she gave me many simple tips to keep my skin clear. She actually paid attention to what I was saying and kept in mind that I couldn't afford high end skin products.

    Best Massage I've Ever Had!

    I had a 60-minute therapeutic massage with Jannell this past week. It was so great-- worked out the knots in my back, neck and shoulders, but not painful, just the right amount of pressure. The atmosphere in the spa is really nice and it's very clean. I will definitely be back for all my spa needs. I highly recommend it for anyone who lives on or near the Hill.

    Over worked and needing to relax

    Spa on the hill was adorable, professional, and super easy to get to. It was reccomended to me by a friend who happened to stumble upon them online. If you are stumbling upon them now, save yourself the search time and just call and book an appointment. You won't regret it! P.S. My favorite part was after the massage when I got to relax in the room on my own and eat cheese, crackers, and strawberries after rinsing off in the super cute adjoining bathroom. Pure bliss.

    AMAZING!!

    I had a 90 min prenatal massage with Becky and it was wonderful. She was perfect with the amount of pressure and very sensitive to my level of comfort. I definitely will be returning to her before the baby comes.

    Had Laura for a theraputic massage. She listened to my health issues and customized the massage for me. Felt great afterwards. Have had problems at other places, so this was a relief. Nice quiet atmosphere. Very convenient for those who live on or near Capitol Hill.

    Heavenly Hands

    I had Lauren for a full body massage yesterday. I informed her of the areas that needed the most work and she did an AMAZING job. She found knots and funky points I didn't know I had. I wish I could go back again today. At one point it felt so healing that I almost said, "Ok, just stay there for the remaining 45 minutes."

    Painless waxing experience.

    I hadn't been in for a Brazilian wax in quite some time, I had a terrible experience that left me frightened to go again. Arnetta completely changed that. She made the entire experience painless. I barely noticed she was waxing, she has great technique & was a great conversational ability to put you at ease. Going in for a wax every few weeks will no longer be something I dread.

    Nice experience

    I was not sure what to expect, since the massage therapist was not someone I had ever been to before. She and the rest of the staff were pleasant and professional. The massage went well - I didn't really find the lingering alone in the darkened room all that special and relaxing, so when I return, I'll probably try a different massage other than the Signature. Otherwise, a good experience and I am very glad to find this on the Hill and available on weekends.

    I went to Spa on the Hill last night for my first bikini wax, and I was understandably a bit nervous! However as soon as I entered Spa on the Hill, I immediately felt calmer. The decor, the music, the scent---everything was incredibly relaxing. And Arnetta really put me at ease.     Had a wonderful 60-minute massage with Sandy this weekend. She worked a small miracle on my quads and lower back. It was my first time at Spa on the Hill and the atmosphere is very pleasant.     I scheduled my appointment with Lauren P., and she gave me the best massage I've ever had. She listened to what I needed to be worked on, found the tight spots, & worked them out. She also paid special attention to my scoliosis, which was exciting for me because every other masseuse I've experienced has avoided working on that part of my spine.     Appearances can be deceiving when i arrived at the spa I was surprised as from the outside it looked like someones home - however once in i was put completely at ease.     I'm searching for a new facialist so armed with my Buy with Me coupon and great reviews, I made an appointment with Arnetta. She welcomed me, went over the form I filled out, asked about any skincare issues/concerns I was having and proceeded to tell me what she will be doing to my face. OMG my 60 minutes went by way too quick! Her touch was gentle (even during the extractions and exfoliation) and my face felt GREAT afterwards. She didn't try to up-sell me any products - love that!

    Very nice atmosphere, not too stuffy. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The pregnancy massage was fabulous, the ability to lie on my stomach after 6 months was great! My therapist gave the exact pressure I asked for, and frequently checked in to make sure it was what I wanted. My only complaint would be that my therapist talked the ENTIRE time, which was not exactly relaxing, but otherwise a great experience.

    I had a prenatal massage with Sioux that changed the forecast for my weekend from near constant pain to total comfort. It was a wonderful treatment and the space is very welcoming. The option to take a quick shower afterward was only made better by the fact that the shower itself was gorgeously tiled... I felt like I was in a magazine.     Best Massage in a long time!

    I get massages once a quarter and decided to make an appointment at Spa on the Hill, since I purchased a "Buy With Me" voucher. The place is easy to find and very quaint. Although it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of most spas, they have some of the best staff around! Becky is AMAZING! Fantastic massage! Genius with neck, shoulders, back and FEET! She has the golden touch and I will definitely be back! If you want a good massage... This spot is a GEM!

    SOTH rocks!

    I once again enjoyed my massage at Spa on the Hill. Janelle was excellent at working the stress out of my shoulders and quads and I think I've been sleeping better since. The SOTH folks are very professional and the decor is beautiful and relaxing. Definitely a must-do if you are a Hill resident committed to local businesses.     Very Relaxing...

    I recently received a prenatal massage by Sandy at Spa on the Hill. She was very nice and very professional. I was a little nervous as it has been many years since I've had a massage and I had never had a prenatal massage.     Very cozy

    I had a great experience at Spa on the Hill. My husband gave me the mother's day package and it was awesome, when I left the place I felt like I was on vacation for a week.     Little with a great BIG PUNCH!!!!

    I was extremly suprised when I walked into the door. A cute little spa with very big expectations. From the begining to the end I was so pleased. I'm use to large full service spa's and was unsure before I walked into the Spa on the Hill. After my experience at the spa I stopped at the desk and booked my next appointment. The refreshments, ambeonce, service was all emaculent..... When ever in doubt you must try it out. Kudos!!!!

    Firm and fabulous

    I had a wonderful signature massage at Spa on the Hill yesterday. Lauren actually listened when I told her I like a firm massage, and I could feel her zone in on the spots where I hold the most tension in my back. The peaceful music, scents, and snacks afterward were great touches.

    Excellent Massage

    I made an appointment to get the Signature Massage with Janelle, and I am quite impressed. The ambiance of the spa is soothing, which is a bit unexpected within a row house. I highly recommend the Signature Massage - the foot scrub alone is worth it! Janelle is an amazing massage therapist. She found and worked out knots I didn't even know I had in my shoulders.

    Exactly What I Needed

    I had excruciating pain in my shoulders, neck and back. A good massage was desparately needed! I found that and more at the Spa on the Hill!     Exactly what I wanted.

    As someone who has more knots in my shoulders that I can count, I love to get a deep tissue massage. I always struggle with finding someone who "can" give me the exact pressure I like, but not at Spa on the Hill. I have consistently been happy with every masseuse that I have worked with. They always give me exactly what I expect and exactly what my muscles need. Everyone is extremely professional while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. This is a great place and I recommend them to everyone.

    More info than I expected

    In a good way. I had a couples massage class and found Laura to be a veritable fount of information above and beyond massage. I plan to return for prenatal and induction massages. I feel safe going there for massage as they obviously are well trained and know what they are doing.

    One of the highlights during my pregnancy

    So far, I have had two prenatal massages and one couples massage class at Spa on the Hill. I could not ask for better care and better service than what I have been given every time I go.     Great Prenatal Massage

    I got a 75-minute prenatal massage by Becky. It was just what I needed to ease my 8-months pregnant aches and pains. She had special pillows and equipment to accomodate the belly and make laying down actually comfortable. One of the best parts, though, was having the time after the massage to relax with the fruit, cookies and water and freshen up in the attached bathroom before having to go back out and face the world!

    I left Spa on the Hill totally relaxed and energized after a deep tissue massage from Janelle. She is truly talented. The staff is excellent and the place is cute and cozy. I booked my next appointment before leaving. I highly recommend this spa.

    Rating for Spa on the HIll

    Hi, I may be a snob because my first massage ever was in Santa Fe NM which is the Mecca for alternative care. At any rate, I thought that Janelle was pretty good. She did the trick. One thing I would suggest for the location as a whole is better lighting. That one light overhead in the room is terrible. Other than that I have enjoyed Spa on the Hill pretty much every time I have gone. I like the foot massage and the face cloth at the end; I could have gone for more face massage!

    Great massage, great atmosphere

    Spa on the Hill is a great spot. The atmosphere is very warm, but not overwhelming. You get your own suite, with a full bath and sitting room. My therapist Genel was very knowledgeable and gave me an excellent massage. I highly recommend Spa on the Hill.

    Great experience!

    I have been to Spa on the Hill twice, and enjoyed both times. The first was a prenatal massage. I consider it one of the best massages of my life. Words do not describe the comfort it provided. The therapist was an expert. My husband and I just had a Valentine's massage. It was great. We arrived early, and they immediately took us to our room. We were treated well, had a relaxing massage (excellent even forDH who needs a lot of pressure), and enjoyed some yummy snacks.

    Fantastic Spa Experience

    My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic couples massage as a Valentine's Day treat and came away with the goal of making it an annual (or hopefully more frequent) event. The spa atmosphere was delightful, the practitioners touch so soothing, and we wrapped up the experience with some nice strawberries and sparkling cider that provided a delightful finishing touch. I'm so glad to find such a wonderful treasure like this in the neighborhood. I sincerely look forward to going back!!

    I recently had a post-natal massage at Spa on the Hill with Janelle. It was incredibly relaxing and my body felt much better the following day (although a little sore at first). I don't remember when I have had a better massage.

    Great experience

    The booking staff, the facility and the masseuse, Janelle, were great. I had the room with the bathroom this time and it was great to have a shower afterwards. So very glad and thankful that this place is in my neighborhood. One suggestion would be to provide slippers because the floor was cold after the shower.

    I had a 90-minute therapeutic prenatal massage. The masseuse was VERY accommodating, professional, and made my poor, sore body feel great. The spa itself is in a rowhouse - interesting concept, and I think it worked very well. I loved the private bathroom off of the massage room. Great experience all around!

    I had a wonderful massage - very relaxing! The absolute only complaint is that the room was very chilly and even though I was covered with a blanket, I was still cold. But really good experience. The practitioner was wonderful!

    Nice surroundings, nice massage

    I really think this is a cute and sweet place. I came here for a prenatal massage and everyone was very nice. I was immediately addressed and everything was on time and prompt - I was offered water while I waited. One bad thing was that the massage room was cold. The masseuse was good and had a nice firm hand. She was not the best I've ever had, but it was a solid massage. The massage table was actually one of the best things about the massage - it let me lay on my belly which was amazing!

    Totally Wonderful Experience

    I highly recommend Sandy at Spa on the Hill. I received a Natural Induction massage that was ultra relaxing and peaceful. Her technique was most soothing to my aching back and hips. During the service, I actually felt my baby calmly move further down than he was. And she taught me how to apply the acupressure techniques to help progress my labor. Great experience.

    Couples Massage

    What a great experience! Spa on the Hill is a hidden treasure. We didn't know until we arrived that they specialize in pregnancy massages, so we were a little uneasy. But we each had a tailored massage by a wonderful masseuse in a pleasant environment. Only suggestion: as much as the music is peaceful, it could be elevated slightly to drown out city noise. But we will go back again - alone and together!

    A lovely experience

    I had the 90-min. prenatal relaxation massage with Becky and had debated about buying the loner time, but at the end I was wondering how it could all be over so soon! It was a wonderful and very thorough massage, and Becky was so nice and concerned that I be completely comfortable. It was the perfect way to relax from the stresses of the pregnant body (after 37 weeks) and get in tune with my body before labor.

    was not impressed at all

    i do not see what the hype is over this spa. i was not impressed at all with the message - i had to flip over a few times (which meant dealing with the head piece) - I asked for more pressure a few times and i was actually thinking of cutting the message short since it was a waste of time and money. I gave it one star because they were nice and the house was clean.

    Excellent massage by therapists who know what they're doing!

    I've had a lot of bodywork done by a lot of great massage therapists, and I was really impressed by Laura at Spa on the Hill -- she took my own preferences and physical foibles into account and did a great pre-natal (34+ weeks) massage. Also had useful information/advice on getting ready for labor. Just wish I could go back more often!

    Great Results!

    I just wish I had gotten the longer massage... I felt like I had spent an afternoon at the beach when I left. While I didn't go into labor that evening or the next day (I'm at 40 weeks-still waiting but not late!) The next day I found I was able to buckle my own sandals without issue. That was a great surprise!

    It was GREAT!!!

    My prenatal massage was great! I had experience a pregnancy massage before when I was told to lay on my side but this massage was way better. I was able to lie on my stomach, believe it or not, without any pressure or pain. The table was made for pregnant women. Becky made sure that I was comfortable and at ease the entire time. The gentle massage had soothed me completely. I can not wait for my next appointment. I am even paying for a friend to come with me the next time!

    Great prenatal massage

    I've had two prenatal massages at Spa on the Hill, one with Becky and one with Amanda, and both were fantastic. I would actually rank both massages as two of the best massages I've ever had. In both cases, they were able to identify sore spots in my muscles and knew the perfect amount of pressure to use without my saying anything. Also, the pillows they use to let you lay on your side are very comfortable - I wish I could get that comfortable in my bed at home!

    Wonderful prenatal massage

    I had a wonderful prenatal massage with Missy yesterday - much better (and less expensive) than the others I have had at the Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons. The spa has a nice, homey atmosphere and is spotlessly clean. I also loved the Erbaviva products. I intend to return for more prenatal massages, and also for postnatal massages and the infant massage class.

    Very few therapists can provide a firm massage that doesn't leave you feeling beat up. Becky was amazing. She hit my troubled spots (shoulders & neck and lower back), ironed out the knots, and left me feeling very relaxed. Superb! The facility was ok (the music kept having static which was distracting from my zen state), which is the only thing holding me back from making it a 5-star.

    My visit to Spa on the Hill was a real treat and provided the full spa experience. I have already recommended it to several of my friends and do plan on going back to visit Jeannette very soon.

    Heaven on the Hill

    After weeks of working on our new renovation a visit to Spa on the Hill was truly Heaven on the Hill. A peaceful and healing setting to relax and leave yourself in the capable hands of your therapist. You can feel your sore tired body and mind revive.

    A True Retreat in the Middle of DC

    I've been to many spas in DC and other places, I am truly impressed by Spa on the Hill. It is a hidden gem just a few blocks from Eastern Market - the building is quaint and the spa therapy rooms are just beautiful. The therapist (Jannell) is highly skilled and professional - not to mention that the treatments are just amazing! If you are in need of a little revitalization/destresser - anything... this is the best spa in Washington DC.

    Highly Recommended

    I've been for three prenatal massages now and each one is better than the last! Everyone on staff is knowledgeable and courteous and I will continue to be a client for as long as they're on the hill (actually, I'd probably even follow them if they moved!)
