My individual medium braids are wonderful. I have received many compliments. Shavon is very lite handed (you can barely feel her in your hair), no tugging, no headaches! I am a former customer of shavon's I use to get kinky twist that has been about 7 years ago. I went natural and went completely bold!!! I recently decided to let my hair grow back and decided to get micro braids. My experience was and has always been a pleasant one. All I can say is I live in Gary,In and my ride and time is worth every minute. Thanks Shavon I would never let anyone else braid my hair but Glo-On Braids.

I was actually wondering where to get my big chop in Chicago Il. I researched the internet for a couple of salons, and came across Glo-on. Reading the reviews, I knew perfectly that this was the place for me. I had had perm in my hair for more than ten years, and was a bit skeptical about how I would look after my big chop. But my goodness, Glo-on did the magic. I had so many good compliments that I never regretted making that decision.

I really enjoyed my time at the salon. The environment was cozy and comfortable. Not only does my hair look stunning, but I also had mind stimulating conversation with my stylist discussing an array of issues particularly pertaining to the African-American community. We also watched an informative documentary about African culture as well as a new movie. The experience was positive, my hair looks great, and the location was convenient...right by the train.

I am seven months into my transiton, and after wearing wigs during this time, I decided to consult a professional about what to do, especially since I need a style that will work at work. I found Glo On after an internet search and made an appointment after reading the other reviews. Shavon gave sound advice and I am now preparing for two strand twist extensions this year. I will return with a review once the style is completed.

This is my third time starting locs. It's my first time with Shavon. My experience with Shavon has been THE BEST out of all my experiences with other locticians. There are two things that I appreciated: 1) the salon's professional demeanor (down to the scheduling process) and 2) that Shavon uses natural products on my hair, not beeswax and synthetic gels that will only clog my scalp. She will definitely remain my regular loctician. And I'm looking forward to growing my locs with her assistance.

But the thing that is most impressive is that thanks to what I learned about loc maintenance is awesome so I will actually start to do monthly, ok alternate months is more likely. My stylist's work (Indrani) was impecable and quick! The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere was relaxing and friendly. At first I was worried about finding parking but there was plenty of it on E 50th St next to the building. I had a great experience and will most definitely be back!

Wow, If you haven't been to this Salon you haven't experience the best pampering spot ever. I go just to get away. I am a hairstylists my self and I use this location to wind down and relax. Sometime as a stylists you need to be pamper as well. They listen to what you need and what you want then execute it to the fullest. I give them 5 stars for the best Natural Hair Salon on the Southside, and expanding for you soon! ;-)

I really like my braids and the style. The texture of the hair that was used, really makes this style look great. I have gotten many compliments, a lot of the compliments have come from guys. I have been going to Glo On Natural for over a year. Shavon is my stylist but all the staff are welcoming, friendly and down to earth. They are very efficient; they get you in and out. I like funky styles so always leave with a hairstyle that I love. People are always complementing me on my various styles and asking where do I have my hair styled.

I came here to get past-shoulder length loc extensions done and I am SO pleased! The stylists Indrani and Angela were so nice! The process took almost 2 full days b/c I have really thick hair but they worked hard and as fast as they could go. The atmosphere was very comfortable and pleasant. My loc extensions came out great, everyone keeps asking how long I've been growing my locs! These ladies are the bomb!

I absolutely adore this place. This is not your typical salon; Its a private spot where people can't walk in to disturb the stylist or clients by selling dirty movies and socks. The stylist are Professional too; they dont triple book and have you waitimg for hours. Last, but not least, they do great work.

My daughter has been going to Shavon for her braid extensions and they always do a great job. Keyana recently switched over to Glo On's interlock weaving and she loves it. It took a lot less time than the braids and Shavon knows her stuff! :-) I will be going back to get my hair done in the same style.

The ladies are very skilled and talented at what they do. In spite of having several customers when we arrived we were still out within 3 hours which is decent for the service, price and style we received. I will definitely take my child back. A caveat for anyone who is a first time client and not from or familiar with Hyde Park take LSD it's the simplest way.

Hi, my consultation was great, everyone was friendly, I recvd.sugestions on what I can do with my hair. My hair is natural but I started wearing customized wigs and my edges are thinning plus my hair is fine/thin to begin with. I need to get the right ntrul. hair care to get my hair back to life, from reading reviews and now finally visting myself, this is the place to be. After much contemplation, I decided 2 go w interlocs. My hair is recovering from a previous style that caused a lot of breakage so I was looking 4 a healthy style 2 protect my hair as it grows back out. Shavon started @ 3pm and was done @6. It was painless, (I'm extremely tender-headed) and it is GORGEOUS! I purchased the Natural Curl texture and I couldn't be happier w the style, the speed, the technique, and the service. It is worth every penny.

As a guy I was reluctant to grow locs. I decided to grow my locs and went to 2 different stylist before I met Shavon. Prior to meeting Shavon I was going to cut my locs off but after the treatment offered at GLO ON I am more than happy now. I get compliments on my hair everyday. In my opinion you can't go wrong with Shavon and GLO ON. Shavon is the ONLY ONE I will allow to touch my hair now.

At the time I met Shavon, I had my locs started by someone else who did not do a good job of sectioning my hair...my locs were very thin. Shavon was able to repair the sectioning and thoroughly educated me about maintaining my locs and how to make them look their best. I've been going to her ever since. Now its been over a year and my locs look amazing. She is the only stylist that will EVER touch my hair. She also makes great styling products that are great for the hair.
