    Beautiful style and nice nice color very subtle

    Wow, Libby did a wonderful cut on my shoulder length locks that had gone without a cut for almost 10 months. And, the color she added is so beautiful. I've wanted to find someone who knew how to cut and style and color my hair for such a long time and Libby knew just want I needed. I'll be back before 10 months passes by...

    Great stylist and wonderful personality

    Libby is the best! I've been going to her for about 2 years. She gives great hair cuts and is very knowledgeable about hair coloring as well as styling. I'm always 100% happy leaving the salon. I won't even think of going to anyone else. I definitely recommend her!

    Superb!!

    Libby is an artist. She is the best hair stylist (cutter and colorist, which is an unusual combination as most stylists are skilled in one or the other--but not both--areas.) I love what she does with my hair EVERYTIME she works on it. And, as a person, she is a pleasure to have in my life.

    Highly recommended!

    I have been looking for a stylist for 3 years in Portland and Libby is the absolute BEST! I went in wanting a change but also feeling really nervous about it and Libby was great because she shared her seasoned opinion but also made every effort to give me a color and style that I would be comfortable and thrilled with.     Fabulous!

    I found Libby because I needed someone to help me with a prior hair color issue and she is totally helping me fix that concern. She also added a bit of highlights that look and feel so natural.     Have this woman cut your hair.

    I just went to Libby for the first time based on a terrific recommendation from a friend. I gave her my broad parameters and asked her to do what she thought looked best. She gave me an awesome haircut with some adorable bangs. She made sure I knew how to style them on my own and took the time to walk me through some product options. She's pleasant, knowledgeable, and perhaps most importantly, girl can cut hair!

    Exactly as advertised!

    I went to Libby because of the good reviews she got on yelp and genbook and other places. They were all spot on. I walked out with a great haircut and color, a perfect mix of laid back Portland and big city chic. There was really cool art, and a relaxed atmosphere. I felt like she really cared what I wanted and was willing to spend the time to get it just right. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend her to anyone.

    Another great cut

    I was excited to grow my hair out but it became difficult to style and uninteresting. Libby added some dynamic shape and kept the length. I love my hair again and it's easy to style.

    It's been 2 weeks

    I went to Libby to have all my hair cut off, after having received 4 consecutive bad haircuts. Libby and I talked and she asked me great questions, like "how do I see myself in the world?" Then she worked her magic with those scissors and products. It's been 2 weeks, I am loving this cut more everyday. It really suits me, and I didn't cut it all off! Quite contrary, she took very little hair, just put the right layers in the right places, and waalaa! Thank you, Libby!

    My Curls ROCK!

    Wonderful

    Libby has great technique and is a true professional. She truly understands cutting and styling curly/wavy hair and, believe me, that is a talent not easily found. She also has a calming, pleasant demeanor (not annoyingly chatty or snobby). Additionally, Arabella Salon has a cool/funky loft-like space, which I enjoy. I always leave her chair happy with my hair. What more can I say?

    Libby - the colorist superheroine

    Libby has rescued my hair not once, but twice now, from the aggressive colorings of other stylists. (I travel quite a bit for work and sometimes have to get my hair done in LA.) She is an expert with not only color, but what colors look best with my skin tone & personality. She is highly skilled, talented, gracious, and an absolute joy to spend a few hours with every few weeks.

    Try Libby, she's great!

    I've just moved to Portland, needed to find a new stylist and have my hair colored. After 21 years of using the same stylist, I was anxious about finding someone. Libby has a great color sense, highly skilled, came up with great suggestions, had a fresh perspective and was very professional. I love the hair color she used, her knowledge of the product line used at the salon--and the way she blew dry my hair, it looks like a new haircut! My hair feels and looks great!     Libby is terrific!

    My hair color needed a change, and my dry hair needed some TLC--and Libby fixed it all! She convinced me to grow out some strands of gray and highlight with blond and brown, for a great color blend--I get tons of compliments on the look. And the crown of my head had frizzly dry hair that has come back to life with a hair lotion Libby recommended. I highly recommend her services.

    Libby has done it again!

    Yesterday Libby did such a fabulous job on my hair. When I went into work people instantly said wonderful things. Also, I have been stopped by people in my building wondering where I go to get my hair done. Libby always makes you feel special! :-)

    fantastic, as always!

    I've been going to Libby for about two years now, and every time I leave the salon chair, I'm amazed at how great my cut and color looks. She has the rare talent of getting what I want exactly right, but also being able to build on my expectations and create an end result that is far more beautiful and complimentary than anything I could have imagined on my own.     Libby Makes me pretty !

    I've never been very good at figuring out what works best with my hair. I have every kind of hair possible all on one head. I have been to so many hair stylists and let them do what they thought was best. I most often ended up with way to dark of hair and some funky hair cuts that really showed what generation I'm from. I now go every 5 weeks and let Libby do whatever she wants to my hair and it rocks. She makes me pretty.

    Luuuurve my haircut!

    I am sooo picky about my haircuts...picky enough that I often end up cutting it myself, haha. I recently visited Libby for the first time and she very patiently listened to my fussing about what I wanted, and proceeded to cut my hair perfectly. To be honest, I was not entirely sure it was perfect at first, but this haircut is only getting better looking. Seriously, at least once a day I get complimented by somebody: friend, acquaintance, or random stranger on the street. I'll definitely be back!

    Libby is amazing!

    I am very fussy about my haircut as I wear my hair short and it takes advanced cutting skills to please me. Libby has it! I love the way my hair grows out from her cuts. She and I are even discussing trying NEW adventures of letting my hair grow out and trying different hairdos. I love her calm and caring personality and hair cutting talents.     Libby Kicks @$$! (Can I just say that?)

    To be perfectly honest, I have never had my hair look and feel as amazing as it does now. I have received compliments 3 months after my hair has been cut and colored. My favorite part about meeting with Libby, is that she is passionate about what she does and I learn something new every time I go in for a cut and color. She knows her stuff! She is simply the best!     Libby did it again. I get to shine with some awesome hair and color. She combined (like 6) hair styles for me to have some fab hair with bold yet natural color. I can never make up my mind. She has awesome style and guides those of us who really need it. :-)

    Great haircut & color

    Libby is highly talented as a stylist and artist. I always say that the proof of a really good cut is the way it grows out....mine looked nearly as good after 6 weeks as it did on Day One. (And it is short and, normally, resembles an unpruned bush after several weeks.) She is also respectful of her clients. No drama, no delays, just good work and gratitude. Thanks, Libby.

    Great Hair starts here!

    Libby is great with my super fine, straight hair. I always get compliments when I have a fresh cut! The salon is peaceful and calming, unlike many hair salons where I feel like a million watts are coming out of all the different pieces of equipment in there. I'd like to be in there more frequently! Fortunately with online booking, it's easy to get in when you are in a hurry!

    Everything else comes second

    My style time with Libby every three and a half weeks takes precedence over every other meeting in my busy schedule. She restores my all-over premature gray head to a shiny, easy to style, auburn one that has never looked so good. Compliments - and my confidence - abound.

    Awesome Rocking Hair

    I asked LIbby to do something fabulous and funky good creative, and she did. I have some pretty amazing hair that can be worn funky or more conservative. The color is amazing and she always picks out the right products that work with my hair. I always walk away feeling pretty darn good

    Very nice

    Libby did a fantastic job. I really appreciate the advice she game me on making my hair stronger and thicker. It is hard to find a good hair stylist and one that will listen to what you want and give you just that. I also really appreciate that I can schedule online. That is extremely convenient for me. I have a very busy schedule so finding the time to try and talk to someone and find a time that will work is very difficult. thank you for the excellent hair cut and new products!

    I feel pretty !

    Thanx to Libby I'm feeling pretty. She magically makes my died hair look natural. She is a color genius. I don't even need to tell her what I want because she knows more about what my hair color can do for my skin tone then I could ever begin to understand. One less thing I have to think about. Yay !

    Really Good

    My hair is crazy curly and she did a beautiful keratin treatment. It is now wavy and absolutely no FRIZZZ!!! The products she uses are sustainable and make your hair feel lovely. My hair is manageable and I can do things that Ive never been able to do before. I was really nervous about the treatment and she put me at ease! I definitely recommend LIbby!

    Very pleased!

    I scheduled with Libby not knowing what I really wanted in a cut and color. Libby and I had a short discussion and I liked her ideas. It's been almost two weeks since my appointment and I must say I love the cut, color and the products she recommended. I have fine hair and Libby's techniques makes it looks fuller and the cut is fresh!

    Amazing!

    I was only in Portland for a day and I needed to get a haircut. I chose to see Libby because of all the great reviews she had online. She did a wonderful job!     A Good Fit

    After my previous hair stylist cancelled on me right before my wedding I was frantic to try and find someone new who would help me look my best on my big day.     A True Gem

    I have had my hair cut twice now by Libby and both times have been absolutely trilled with the outcome.     Two great experiences

    I've been served by Libby twice now, and I'm really impressed with her technical skills and with her input and ideas for me to consider for my hair.     WOW, Libby is the best in town !

    I had a hair cut and color on Saturday. But just saying a "cut and color" doesn't really explain my experience. I'm not quite sure there's a word in the english language that could truly make my point. So I'll say it in Italian, " Stupefacente!" Libby was wonderful. I have thick curly hair, so at times it's a challenge. I wanted to try something easier to take care of. Libby took the time to explain the cut and products. I can't imagine going anywhere else to get my hair done. Thanks Libby !!

    I feel beautiful!

    I am salon phobic, so I researched for months until I found Libby and her amazing reviews. At our initial consultation her careful listening and calm demeanor inspired further trust. I spent two hours in her chair today for a cut and (first time ever) color on my thick, curly growing out hair. Her professional education and talents are were evident in her craft, and the overall experience was relaxing and wonderful. The results speak for themselves. I couldn't be happier.

    Great for curly/wavy hair

    I would totally recommend Libby and would see her again. She cut and styled my curly hair very well and in a way that works for styling curly or straight, which is exactly what I requested. She saw me on time and was friendly without being annoyingly chatty.

    Libby, You are a color Super Hero ! My roots stayed dark and no gray peeked through at all. This is the first time ever that this has happened. What did you do different from what everyone else does? I think maybe you spit in the formula... xo !

    Excellent Service and Salon

    This was my first visit to Arabella and Libby. She took the time to analyze what my issues were with frizzy hair and color, etc. The color was fantastic and she also took time to instruct on how to wear it curly or straight, as well as the correct products to use. A rarity in this industry. There was no rush and she answered all my questions.

    I look like I paid three times as much

    Whenever I leave Libby's chair, I feel like a different woman! Even though she styles my hair better than I ever could, she cuts and textures it to the point where it looks amazing even when I let it air dry. I have Libby to a Keratin relaxing treatment on my frizzy, unmanageable curls, and instead of robbing me of my signature ringlets, I get lush, smooth, gorgeous locks that get LOTS of attention. When it comes to my mane, I put complete trust in Libby's abilities, and she never lets me down!

    Fantastic Experience

    She took her time, was detail-oriented, & passionate about hair!

    I really loved how Libby seemed to want to really understand my concerns about my hair color and cut, and went to great lengths to touch and examine my hair to determine what would be best for me. She seemed very passionate about her job, and that made me feel like I was in good hands. I have gone from blond to a darker color before and have never liked the results; Libby eased me into the change with a subtle darkening that ended up looking really good and making me happy with the results!

    Keratin (and Libby) saved my hair!

    A year ago, my hair literally felt like Barbie's hair... like yarn mixed with twigs. Libby started doing the keratin protein straightening treatment on me and now my hair is silky, soft, shiny, and never, ever frizzy! It just repaired the damage and calmed the frizz, without robbing me of my signature curls. Recommended for ALL hair types!

    Relaxed-not rushed! Perfect experience.

    Libby took extra time to give me a fabulous haircut. I appreciated her insight into how to style my hair..she offered some tips to style it quickly and effectively-- to get the most out of the fabulous cut she gave me. the salon's classy, relaxed atmosphere really made for a nice experience.     Fantastic (again)

    Making a drastic change in style is risky. Can I pull it off? Will this look god on me? Will I be able to maintain it? And, yet again, Libby has created the fresh, new style I wanted. She's a straight talker about what will and won't work with my hair type as well as what it takes to maintain the style. When she puts scissors to my locks I'm 100% confident in the outcome.     Confidence in a Cut

    Libby Beaman has been cutting my curly hair now for 6-months. Before going to Libby, I had a very hard time taming my curls and feeling good about my hair. Libby sat me in her chair, asked me a few questions and made me feel so good about my overall experience. She is experienced cutting curly hair (which is hard to find) and she has great products which allow for a natural look. Now a days, I am wearing my hair down more than I am wearing it up and I am more confident than ever!

    Wonderful

    Libby fixed a few mistakes made by former stylists which made such a difference. Now I don't feel obligated to blowdry my hair every time I wash...it just sort of falls where is supposed to. Yay! The color was awesome too of course. Very impressed.

    A winner

    I found Libby because I have used Davines for the past 9 years and really only like to have their line of hair color used on my hair. She was great with suggestions, did an excellent job and her head massage was AMAZING. Definitely something I judge a stylist on :) I didn't feel rushed, nor did I feel like I was sitting there forever.

    Great stylist

    Libby recommends ideas (most of which are great, and I agree to) but she doesn't insist on anything outside my comfort zone. She gave me a great short cut a few months ago. Her appointments are easy to book. She's very knowledgeable about the Davines products and I've noticed that my hair is much healthier after using these products!

    Finally!

    I have been living in the NW now for about 5 years and have had mixed results with stylists. Unluckily for me, I'm one of those guys who just cannot go to Supercuts or a Barber Shop to get my hair cut. I lived in Scottsdale before the NW and W. Palm Beach, Florida before that and have actually flown back to both of those places to get my hair cut by two ladies that I liked. Finally, I don't have to do that anymore! Libby, in one cut, fixed my style, color and the health of my hair. Viva Davines!

    Libby is a talented hairstylist! She gave excellent advice, especially for our curly, frizzy, & dry hair. She has a passion for her work & the Davines line, and explained the importance of using high quality, sustainable hair products! She calmed our fears about taking care of our hair, especially since she can relate with the curly/frizzy hair. The Natural Tech Treatment was nourishing & relaxing, and we loved the hairstyles she gave us. The salon is a quaint, chic loft; a place be pampered!

    Hair help!!!!

    As I took my first step through the doorway into this comfortable space, I had an immediate feeling of rightness. Libby listened carefully to my hair needs and made wonderful suggestions. We planned, she orchestrated, and my new style ROCKS! The space is charming too.

    Libby is knowledgeable, skillful, and considerate. She loves what she does, and is flawlessly professional. She not only gave me a totally hot cut, but taught me how to better care for my hair, set me up with wonderful products, and has a plan to keep me looking awesome while i grow out my hair. Libby, you're amazing, thank you!

    A True Pro!

    Libby was awesome. She took her time and educated me on my hair and its needs, and she used products that made my hair look so shiny and healthy. Also, I loved being able to book everything online, and the salon space is great too. I'm definitely going back to Libby!

    Awesome!

    I wouldn't go anywhere else. Libby has given me some of the best cuts I've ever had. She has helped me learn to control my wavy/curly hair on top of the cuts she has given me that actually work with my hair instead of against it. She makes me feel comfortable and the environment in the salon is so friendly and inviting. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

    Thrilled

    Libby is incredible. She chopped 15 inches off and gave me the style that I needed and wanted! And she's an excellent teacher, showing me exactly what to do and what not to do to keep up my excellent new do! I have had so many people come up to me in the last week (since I met Libby) and ask me who cut my hair - they can tell it took something special to acheive! I am sooo happy!

    WOW!!

    It was a wonderful experience to have Libby do my hair. She was great at interpreting what I wanted with my hair and made that happen. She went above and beyond my expectations. I have gotten so many compliments and feel great. I can hardly wait to see her again!

    Libby is wonderful. She listened and worked with me, even though I came to the salon without a clear idea of what I wanted for my hair. She also gave me great advice on how to take care of my personal hair type, and as usual, gave me a GREAT new style. Highly recommended.

    Attentive, inventive

    Libby worked wonders with my hair (and it needed some wonders). She listened well and invented a solution that was shorter and sassier than I would have envisioned. I was happy when I left, and have gotten happier with each passing day. Thank you Libby!

    Amazing!!!!!

    rI have been going to the same hairstylist for 15 years now. I recently decided that I wanted to make a change and try someone new. I googled "best hairstylists in portland" which brought up Arabella. I chose Libby because she had great reviews. I had her cut off around 13 inches. I let her choose the style even! Needless to say, I LOVED my haircut. I have been recieving complements for the last month. My sister recently went there and loved it as well. I most highly recommend Arabella.

    The best!

    I am so happy with my haircut by Libby! She did such a fantastic job! I hadn't had my haircut by anyone for well over 10 years, and I will be back to see Libby again! She's a scissor-wizzard! I couldn't be happier! :)
